Winning covers all. Stop winning or leave and shite comes out more publicly. Welcome to the situation with every fanbase and every coach everywhere. across all sports.

The stories on Golding will make Kiffin’s read like a children’s book.

What’s the big deal about a donor paying for Kiffin to fly on vacation? If someone wants to give their money away, why should we care? Are we jealous someone is not paying for us to fly? Seems petty.

Good to know Arkansas is the measuring stick for your now, what $80 million coach?
Arkansas is a measuring stick for everyone. Losing to Arkansas is an indication a program is at rock bottom.

Lulz, you fools going to go broke.
With everything that’s transpired over the last several years in multiple sports with buyouts, top transfer portal classes and recruiting, you’re still going to roll with the narrative that LSU doesn’t have money?

Are all these NIL contracted kids paying taxes?
I bet a lot aren’t. And it will serve as a powerful life lesson when the IRS comes knocking.
IRS.gov - NIL is treated as fully taxable income
quote:
Yes, money earned from Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals is fully taxable. The IRS treats NIL earnings as taxable income, which includes both cash payments and the fair market value of non-cash compensation like merchandise, cars, or trips.
Student-athletes are generally considered independent contractors by the IRS, meaning you must report this on your tax return:
Self-Employment Tax: You are responsible for a 15.3% self-employment tax (for Medicare and Social Security) if your net earnings are = $400.
Federal & State Income Tax: You must pay federal income tax on your earnings, and you may also owe state taxes depending on your home state, the state where your school is located, and any states where you traveled to perform services.
Because taxes are rarely withheld automatically from NIL checks, it is highly recommended to set aside 30% to 40% of your earnings to cover your tax bills.
California is especially interesting as they charge athletes and performers taxes on income earned while they are in California, regardless of their state of residence. So if an athlete receiving NIL money plays in California, they have to pay California their cut.
quote:
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold made headlines after Super Bowl LX due to California's "jock tax". Because the game was held in Santa Clara, California, and he spent over a week there, the state prorated a portion of his lucrative $105 million contract, resulting in an estimated $249,000 tax bill.
Although the standard NFL Super Bowl winning bonus is $178,000, Darnold's specific California tax bill on those working "duty days" exceeded his game check, leading to viral internet claims that he "lost money" by winning the game.
I wonder if the flood gates will open for audits of NIL athletes sometime in the future.

Most big time college football head coaches contracts specify the # of hours the coach can use the jet for personal use each year.
Yeah I assumed that was pretty normal. UF athletics owns two jets, think Sumrall can use up to 30hrs the first year for private use.

Flying private is expensive bud. You should chat gpt it since it’s not something you’ll ever experience.

Yeah. That and the cops being called for stalking because he wouldn't leave her apartment. And we had to pay her off to keep her from filing a restraining order against him.
ETA: just for perspective she broke up with him when she found out he got the second coed pregnant when her dad made a stink and threatened to sue.
You didn't seem to care much a few months ago.

Called a perk of working at one of the top programs in the country. Sorry you hillbillies in Kentucky don’t understand that, though it’s understandable why you don’t

Ole Piper knew just where to put her shitty article to get the most clicks. She's been trolling LSU for years. Well done, sis.

Lol, we're paying 3 million for a golden parachute for our former AD. They're getting a bargain.

Is that when all of the Ole Miss people said no one was going with him except his brother?

Our donors have so much money that we stipulations in our coaches' contracts to pay for their vacations. Meanwhile Kentucky "invests" in basketball and can't even make it past the Sweet 16 anymore!
