The part I won't believe is that Saban blocked it
Saban fired Lane a week before a national championship game. Called him a sonofabitch among other things and told him to GTFO.
If you listen to what Saban, Sark and Kirby have had to say about Lane in public interviews it is consistent - he is an elite X’s and O’s coach; but he is an immature, self-destructive narcissist who cares nothing about anything other than Lane Kiffin.

He's not Brian Kelly,
He looks almost exactly like LSU BK. BK made the SECCG his first year. KDB has only made the CFP at Bama since they expanded the field, Kelly’s 23 team would have made it but they missed the expansion by one year. Losing to FSU, multiple embarrassing 20+ losses. He is literally BK in crimson

he calls Finebaum to get his name out there and let it be known he wants the job.. to create a stir what an autistic manipulative person.
Now he's been trying to ingartiate himself with Saban every chance he gets .
Never could get Bama had to settle for LSU

I don't think BK's 2023 team quite makes it, but you're talking a difference of like 4 ranking spots between the two.
Not a big difference considering BK took over a .500 team and DeBoer took over a semifinal team. And spare me the Bama excuses, even if your roster required some retooling, a .500 team had it way worse.

At Bama a single lone letter of the alphabet, the script A, is all it takes for people to know.
Actually people confuse it for the Atlanta Braves' script A, they're so similar you need the crimson red coloring to indicate the team you're referencing
nice try though
also nobody refers to Alabama as A like they refer to LSU as LSU so weird, flaccid attempt at a comp

LSU had the #1 ranked portal class and preseason Heisman favorite last season and finished 7-6. Ouch.

Let's see what your BK does in year 4.

It’s amazing seeing Bama fans continue to trot out this excuse, when we saw what Cignetti did with Indi-fricking-ana during the EXACT same time frame

I can't compare anyone to Cignetti yet, he may end up being the new GOAT. But yes, the excuses are wild.
Especially when they insist Lane should make a deep run in the playoffs or year 1 is a failure, after their own guy didn't even make the playoff. For some reason, they have higher expectations for LSU's coaches, than their own.

Kellys 2023 team finished ranked 13th in the final regular season rankings by the CFP. They would have missed the playoffs.
Every coach has bad loses, that doesn't make him Brian Kelly

Instead of hiring a guy who had never even appeared in a P4 conference title game - Kiffin - he instead picked a coach fresh off a P4 conference championship and a national championship title game appearance. LSU fans have corndogs for brains.

Deboer has twice as many CFP appearances over the last 4 seasons as LSU does in program history.

If we're being intellectually honest, Saban's been the same way throughout his career sans the immature and self-destructive qualifiers
-lied to LSU and everybody publicly incessantly that he wasn't leaving for the NFL then immediately jumps for the Dolphins after the Capital One Bowl
-lied publicly that he wasn't talking to Alabama or going to Alabama then immediately breaks his Dolphins contract to go to Alabama
-immediately upon becoming the Alabama coach uses his La HS connections from LSU to begin poaching La for top players and makes fun of Cajuns
-very VERY nearly becomes the Texas head coach in 2013, all the talks and everything about that were real. Bama fans and people pretend this never happened
-blocked Lane from being O's OC at LSU
-still keeps an office at Bryant-Denny and remains on Bama's payroll despite that he does College Gameday as well

I believe BK has two appearances as well. He also played for a natty and got blown out.

Both also had first round QBs but didn’t win anything with either. BK did at least recruit his, KDB Inherited Simpson (and started a bum over him the first year)

The differences aren't as big as Alabama fans desperately want to believe.
Mostly, when you compare their tenures at LSU and Alabama respectively, DeBoer made the playoff in year 2, and Kelly didn't. Which, again, was a difference of 4 ranking spots., with one inheriting a team that went 12-2 and the other inheriting a 6-7 squad.
And now DeBoer is getting blown out in big games too.

Is it farfetched to think Saban thinks Kiffin is good enough for the job and place he liked but wouldn't recommend him for the job and place he loved?
would you believe that Saban has said the biggest mistake of his career was leaving LSU?

You care to give us a link to these guy saying this?
I am not saying Kiffin isn't them things, I just want to see them saying it?

That all worked out pretty well for Lane and LSU.
LSU got a better coach than De4 and Kiffin got a top 5 money program that, unlike Bama, is built to compete in the NIL era.
