If Bama job was to become available after this season and Kiffin was offered the job, he couldnt leave LSU fast enough.
LSU does not have the name brand that Bama has, nor the tradition of being an elite football program. Lane want a statue at Bama with the other legends.

The point is that Saban didn't block Kiffin because he was radioactive...he blocked him because he was a threat to win big.
Everyone else at Bama may have been concerned enough about the radioactivity of Lane to not push the issue given Saban's stance and a confidence that the program would be fine with any quality hire.
Fast forward to end of 2025, Bama would have changed its decision if it could...and Kiffin was getting offered some of the top jobs in all of college football.
Fast forward to now, Kiffin's antics are being overblown because there's very real concern that he's building a monster that is going to be a problem for years to come.

Disagree, leaving LSU and all the resources LSU commits to its football program for Alabama is a lateral move at this point in college football history, Alabama can't give him more than what he'll receive here

Considering the great things Saban said about LSU, he clearly knew LSU was the best place for Kiffin to go on his run, not Vama.
