But dear lord the man is evidently tone deaf! Complains about NIL the day before this?

Remember back in 2007 when the media were all up in arms about Saban's $4 million per year salary? How times have changed.

I haven't bothered reading all the details but a lot of coaches have something in theri contracts about if they win a title they woudl then be the highest paid coach in the country. Once the salary arms race began (like the other poster said, around saban's bama arrival) it's just been a slow roll downhill and I don't know how it'll stop. Saban is typically (and very much rightfully) the highest paid coach, making A LOT. So when an urban or an orgeron or a kirby wins now they have to be highest, which is even more than A LOT.

Why would Alabama fans care about this? Saban owns Smart (and Georgia) and the only reason Georgia won last year was Alabama had all their best skill guys out

Poor Bama. All they had to work with was their Heisman QB, their 2000 yard RB, two of the best TEs in the SEC, and their Biletnikoff finalist (1st half).

Honestly you should be proud you even made it close. A true underdog story IMO

Y’all got beat by Stetson. Something else was going on. Tell Saban to stop running ur WRs into the ground
