Play was never there. Delpit lined up to make it look like he was rushing. Bounced off man in front of him and when he saw his assignment release, he sprinted wide and back. It's called assignment football.Special team players are taught now to watch a player instead of the kicker to prevent fakes.
Routine play by Delpit, although I agree the kid is coming fast. The play was never "there".

That wasn't a smart call at all. First of all, it got stuffed. UGA looked dominant on the ground on that drive and could have wiped out LSU's small lead and momentum.

When LSU stuffed that play, it fired up the crowd and team even more and UGA never looked the same after that. It was a great flip and catch and could have been a great call later in the game with great execution, but 9 yards is a long freaking way for a kicker to go against LSU in Tiger Stadium. Delpit was there immediately and another Tiger followed and helped make the tackle quickly. Bad spot to call that in the game.

That was a terrible call especially considering the kicker we have but it really didn't matter.
LSU simply beat us physically and you have to credit them for that.

Always take the points on the road vs a ranked opponent.
Especially early in the game AND with a chance to tie the game.

It was a very arrogant move by the UGA staff and showed their lack of respect for the LSU offense.

UGAs coaching staff prevented this game from actually being a toss up game at the end. Their team had match up advantages in the running game and turned away from it time and time again showing their lack of patience.
That in turn exposed UGAs defense to more time on the field. Their D line started to weaken at the end of the game.

It could have been a tight game at the end had UGAs coaching staff had a bit more restraint and this fake field goal decision just exemplifies that point.

Looked like the coaches trying to create a moment for the press conference. Too cute

Horrendous call. One of many indefensible decisions by Kirby yesterday.

I hope the media and the fan base relentlessly eviscerates him for that performance during every second of his availability between now and the Florida game.

Yep, hindsight creates a lot of geniuses in cyberspace.

Not only was the fake FG a bad call...but on that drive, Holyfield was gashing the LSU run defense. Then, UGA gets into the red zone...and throws twice?

That play pumped the whole stadium up but it also showed LSU that Kirby thought his team would be too much for LSU to handle. He didnt think risking those 3 points would be a problem.

Definitely a big moment in the game. UGA had a lot of momentum the way Holyfield was running and the crowd was relatively tame and not really believing yet.

3-3 game with momentum and the 20-30k UGA fans making most of the noise turned into a 10-0 game with the home crowd going crazy.

The momentum swing was massive and UGA never recovered. The next threepossessions, UGA went 3 and out while LSU scored on all 3 of their possessions. In fact from that play, UGA got 1 first down over the next 21+ minutes of play while LSU ran 36 plays and gained 250 yards. Then it was halftime.

That play was huge.

Delpit was great last year as well. He’s the MVP of the defense. Phillips is the guy really showing out this year.

It actually was a smart call and should have worked but Delpit who is outplaying our two All-Americans and has to be serious contender for SEC defensive player of the year
thats why it was a dumb call. He ran a fake field goal at our 3 best defenders hoping all three of them would be fooled.

potentially changed the whole dynamic of the game, especially that early

very unwise, LSU was obviously better prepared and coached yesterday
