That’s not ideal when Wandale Robinson is rolling into town. He’s a big play threat on every down. We should be getting Ali back this week as well.

What would y’all consider Kentucky’s best win?

State by 4 unless you’re bringing basketball refs with you.

I still don't know what to make of Kentucky. Lackluster against Mizzou and South Carolina. Dan Mullen was probably the MVP against Florida. The win over LSU is probably their best effort. 2-3 in the conference LSU. Throw in an absolute dumpster fire against UT-Chattanooga.

Best win? Florida. Best game, LSU.

I mean which version of State are you going to get? You're talking about a team with a couple of legitimately good wins (NC State by two TD's and A&M on the road) and a couple of bad losses (Memphis and LSU). Rogers has shown the ability to look like an effective QB and the ability to look like a deer in the headlights.

I think it's a fairly good matchup for State, they're Top 10 nationally in rushing defense. Similar to the NC State game, I think they can limit the run and put the game in Levis's hands, and we'll see whether or not he can make enough plays to win it. From an outsider's perspective he seems to be the most effective Kentucky QB in several years but still a bit of a game manager. Hasn't thrown for more than 200 yards against a Power 5 team yet. On offense I don't expect the interception fest you saw last year, Rogers isn't nearly the risk taker that Costello was. He may throw an INT or two but he's far more likely to take the two yard dump off than throw into coverage over and over again (sometimes to a fault, his biggest criticism to this point is that he can be too conservative).

I would be pretty surprised if it's not a close game, and it's an important one for both teams. If it were in Lexington I think the odds would definitely be in Kentucky's favor, in Starkville it's far more of a 50/50 proposition. I see it as a true toss-up, maybe leaning slightly toward State since the game is in Starkville but it would not remotely be an upset if Kentucky won.

I think it boils down to line play. I am sure you will drop 8 like everybody does, so our O will depend on how much time Will gets to throw. Dude can throw, but he is a statue.

We gamble a lot on D. If you can kill the blitz, chances for big plays goes way up.

Speaking of our QB, it was refreshing to watch Chance Lovertich avoid rushers. If Will had Chance’s feet, he would be deadly.

This makes a lot of sense, and I agree.

The game last year was just bizarre when you look at the box score. Kentucky barely had 150 yards of total offense and won the game by three touchdowns. State threw a pick six, another INT that was run back to the 2, and two more picks in the end zone. Just an OK offensive showing probably wins the game for State, but it was probably the ugliest showing a Mike Leach offense has ever had.

Granted, I realize UK fans probably feel similarly about the '19 game when they were averaging like 10 yards a carry and decided to throw it 40+ times for some reason.

Kentucky will win comfortably if not a blowout.

Biggest question to me is, can Kentucky capitalize on the limited possessions they’ll get?

Both teams have similar defenses
Ours is strong against the run which is UKs strength on offense
We have a better offense than UK

I actually think it’s a bad matchup for UK and we win 21-17

I think these two teams are pretty evenly matched. I'm interested to see the outcome

2020 - We shut Leach's offense out entirely

What the hell are you talking about? What game did you watch? Kentucky had a total of 74 yards passing and 84 yards rushing. Who shut who down?

MSU had 275 yards passing but missed fieldgoals and self-inflicted crap on ourselves inside the redzone is what did us in. Also, Rogers was not our QB

It was a very strange game and your points came in even more strange ways

But he was responsible for 2 of the 6 interceptions that day.

You also only attempted one field goal so it shouldn't be plural.

I think Stoops will focus on establishing the run and dominating the line of scrimmage in the first couple of drives. The line should be able to open some decent holes for CROD and Smoke. Once Moo State moves some folks up in the box to stop the run, Kentucky will let Levis air it out over the top. I wouldn't be surprised if he has his best passing game except for LMU.

I think this game is going to be a really good contest. I'm not surprised to see the betting lines so tight.

Our defense is really good but super prone to big plays

*Wandale Robinson has entered the chat*

In all seriousness, you’ll be the second best run defense we’ve played this season so it’s going to be predicated on Levis and Co. keeping the defense honest. We also get Ali back which will help some.

While I’ve really enjoyed watching this team start putting it together, Stoops having this team prepared to come out and defend their ranking is another hurdle that needs to be crossed before we can make the next step as a program. We’ve had a habit of making one loss into two (see 2018) and coming out flat after a bye week. If he has them ready to go, I think we get the win. But historically, that’s a reasonably big “if”.
