Well it's officially Cayts and Dawgs week. Both teams coming off bye weeks....UK with an actual bye, and State having played one of the worst Vanderbilt teams I've ever seen in my life.
I've seen folks saying this game opened with State favored -2, which makes zero sense to me. Just kinda wondering how Bulldog fans feel about this game. Usually y'all are pretty swaggy about it. Stoops hasn't won in Starkville, but when you go back and look at those years and those rosters, it kinda makes sense. I think we're pretty clearly a much better team than State this year and should handle things easily TBH. But I'm wondering what the pulse is down in Starkvegas

That’s an awful lot of confidence for a team that rarely wins in Starkville. I think it can go either way.

I think we've earned a bit of confidence at this point.

We haven’t won in Starkville since 2008 and we’re known under Stoops for coming out flat after a big loss (or even a bye week). I would’ve been more surprised if the line was bigger.

The line has already moved to UK -1. I suspect it'll be UK -3 by kick off.
I know about our woes down there, but think about those teams that have played down there. 2008 was Brooks swan song.
So you've got Joker and Stoops fixing Joker's mess. So since 2015 it's alternated, with home team always winning.
2015 - Dak attack
2016 - UK walkoff FG (saves Stoops job thankfully)
2017 - State ranked, UK had Stephen Johnson
2018 - 2018 best Stoops team until this year
2019 - We had Sawyer Smith under center
2020 - We shut Leach's offense out entirely
So yeah, on the one hand, it's easy to say we haven't won down there. But you have to look at it like a venn diagram, where Joker's shite tenure and Stoops fixin that mess overlapped with Dan Mullen winning 8-9 games for them every year. in '15 and '17 they were ranked, we were dealing with Towles, Barker, Stephen Johnson while they had Dak Prescott and Nick Fitzgerald.
I guess what I'm saying is this is the first time in all of that where we are on the road down there and have the clearly better team. It's not like we've gone down there all these times and had a clear advantage and State pulls off some chicanery...like the crap we've had to deal with v Florida for several years now.
I like our chances Saturday.

We play like shite in Starkville.

UK should win this game by 2 scores, but you never know. We'll see how the respond to they bye week.

Kentucky hasn’t won in Starkville since there was a guy named Croom coaching there.

True, but this team is actually very good, and I would expect motivated after the Georgia game to get a win, plus having the bye lets some healing occur.
I expect a motivated UK team to storm Starkville on Saturday. I guess we'll see. I think they want a dominating performance.

You are our homecoming opponent. Need I say more?

A little more would help. What does that have to do with anything once the ball is kicked off.

Could go either way. I used to worry about the physicality aspect of this match up but not anymore at all.
Miss St. is one dimensional being 130/130 of FBS schools rushing.
The goal is to win by 1 or 100 IDGAF, just win. Weather should be nice @ 65 and partly sunny - which is perfect football weather.

Our defense is really good but super prone to big plays. Our offense is a lot better this year than last. Should be a good game

Our offense has improved, we are great at stopping the run, we’ve gained confidence from beating a couple of ranked teams, and this game is at home for us. This spread looks about right to me.

We feel thankful that UK is our permanent cross-division opponent.

Worked out great for you last year.

Worked out great for us the year before last year. See what I did there?

If it makes you feel better, we like having you too.

We have as others have mentioned, had great difficulty in winning in Starkvegas. I also hate those damn cowbells.
If people are to take Kentucky seriously, then this is the kind of game they have to win. Mississippi State has beaten NC State and Texas A&M so this is going to be a tough one.
This is a toss up.

Two strong defenses, State’s offense still isn’t where it needs to be, but much improved from last season.
We’ve been pretty tough to run on this season so it will be on Levis to beat us, which lesser QBs have done. I think this is State’s most winnable SEC game left.
