He needs to throw for 279 yards through the Big 10 Championship to break 3000 yards passing, but he’ll likely end up with 40 TDS

His TDS per yard thrown has to be some kind of record.

Also has a passing TD every 7.4 pass attempts and a rushing TD every 8.4 rushing attempts. Both are incredible numbers.

If you'd bet on Burrow when Tua was favored, before his injury vs UT, you'd be in good shape now, assuming Burrow wins it.

But you didn't do it then, did you.

So how many elite quarterbacks do you suppose have missed out entirely due to a conservative offense? Keep in mind that until very recently nearly every SEC teams ran a conservative offense.

Of course there are some, and the scheme also helps QBs improve. However, the cream rises. Put Burrow on any team in the country and he'll look like an NFL QB.

Also keep in mind there are SEC QBs who have benefited greatly from scheme. (#DannyWuerffel #frickYouSpurrier).

1st year as a starter with a mundane offense he's average

Even though Fields was a backup and did pretty good with the allotted playing time last year, IMO, he wouldn't have ever been able to exhibit his talents there To Mundane... At OSU it is the perfect "marriage" for him. It is an evenly coordinated rush-pass scheme and makes it even more explosive because you can't plan which to defend.. Plus, even though it places an emphasis on the run game Ryan Day is pretty good in passing innovation and they have a slew of really good WR's.

Just not his 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year on that team.

Ohio State let him go because he wasn't good enough to start, then they brought in Justin Fields because he was. The topic, you know, is about Burrow and Fields

Can you stop being a pussy and state your point?

Burrow's per game average across the board when accounting for last year and this year would put him in the top 15 in most years.

Now tell me what you think that makes him?

Fields is a great player in his first year. Either because you're dumb or a troll, you think that impacts what we should think of Burrowin the slightest.

Yes, that's true.... But it was truly a coin flip decision. They knew they had two elite QB's and one left by attrition because he was to good to sit....even for one year.

John Milner thinks OSU would have taken Fields with Haskins and Burrow on the roster.

If fields was so dominant, he would be mentioned in the same breath as burrow for the Heisman. But even with his stats, he's nowhere close to beating out Burrow because everyone knows his stats are against garbage teams while burrow has beat four top 10 teams. LSU has put up over 500 yards versus all the good defenses they have played because of burrow

Nebraska is 4-6 so I know there are a lot of teams worst than that. NWestern is bad, yes I’ll admit. But they would beat Arky and Vandy

We all know how good Tom Brady Jr. is, but I'm sure looking forward to seeing Fields perform against a top 10 team this Saturday.. even more so in the big house with 110,000 screaming lunatis in 2 weeks. I have a hunch, just a gut feeling that he truly is special.

I would have too.

Remember, this kid is in his first year as a starter. If they try at all to make it happen he's going to break every single single season Big 10 passing record next season and add about 15 rushing TDs. I'd be shocked if he throws more than 5 interceptions.

I'll go along with that... NW is terrible offensively but not bad defensively. Yea, if they get that transfer QB back, although he has been terrible this year but has the talent, they'd probably win... Arkansas is horrible, just a notch above Rutgers and I'm not even sure of that.

I can tell you’ve never been to the big shithole. It’s anything but loud. They are fricking lunatics though. Every year is “this is the year”. Kind of like Texas.

OK

OSU only looked at him because Burrow left. Even using hindsight, why look for a transfer when you have a guy who knows your system for 2 years and can do what Burrow has done this year.

Justin Fields isn't JT Barrett. This is a far better Ohio State team as well. If they lose I don't think it's a blow out.

JT Barrett beat legit teams like 2016 Michigan and 2017 Penn State. Fields looks great against Rutgers and Maryland and the UGA and OSU people here are ready to anoint him
