I've heard people say that the QB position would be a wash in potential LSU vs OSU matchup, can someone please explain this line of reasoning? Burrow is a better passer across the board despite far more attempts, Fields has an advantage in rushing, but let's remember sacks are counted as rushes by the NCAA. Fields doesn't need to pass (or play in general) as much b/c OSU is burying some of the worst P5 teams in the country (Northwestern, Maryland, Rutgers and Nebraska); tbf they've beaten some decent G5 teams like FAU, Miami (OH) and Cincinnati

Burrow is asked to do more and plays more because his team doesn't blow as many teams out. They're different animals. Maturity, leadership, and accuracy go to Burrow, but Fields is also a plus passer & plus runner. The offenses are different. tOSU relies on the running backs much more than Lsu so of course, the QB #s won't be as good.

He's asked to do more and still is much more efficient than Fields. We'd blow more teams out if we played FAU, Northwestern, Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers. LSU opponents Ole Miss, Utah State and probably Ga Southern would facefrick any of those five. Ga Southern played Big 10 contender Minnesota down to the wire and won at App State. Utah State nearly beat the ACC's second best team (Wake)

Utah State qb had a really bad game vs LSU. Was one of the few games were able to pressure with 4 rushers. He is still a better qb than anyone ohio state has faced yet.

I agree, they had some dropped balls too, but it was one of LSU's most complete performances. Clifford is a good QB that OSU will play on Saturday, but overall Penn State is just not as good as their ranking/record

Burrow was still in...
with 5 min to go vs 4-7 Ole Miss
with 11 min to go vs 4-6 Miss St
with 13 min to go vs 6-4 Utah St
with 14 min to go vs 2-8 Vandy
with 0 min to go vs 6-4 tu

Now look and see how many 4th quarters Fields played in vs bad teams.

I love Joe and am thrilled to see him dominating. He is having a great year. That being said Fields ceiling is as high as he wants it to be and I wouldn't trade him for anyone and I'm sure LSU fans feel the same way.

This is such a stupid argument. Y’all always use this to fit you absurd narratives until one time it sticks and then blabber about it for weeks. I can’t count how many times LSU has been smeared after using that argument against teams by equal or better talent that have breezed through awful teams. Battle hardened or poor development because of schedule has blown up in your fanbase’s face too many times for me to take you cucks seriously in that debate.

This isnt even a debate.

All of those teams except Vandy are far better than the OSU opponents I mentioned, which are some of the worst in the entire country

If fields runs anywhere near like Plumlee, LSU loses by 17.

Fields’ stats are wild.

He has 31 TDS and only 2164 yards a passing

That’s 3.1 TDs and 216 yards a game.

He needs to throw for 279 yards through the Big 10 Championship to break 3000 yards passing, but he’ll likely end up with 40 TDS

His TDS per yard thrown has to be some kind of record.

Anime as gay af get that shite out of here. Also try to make an actual argument. Who's worse in the P5 than Northwestern, Nebraska, Rutgers and Maryland? Maybe Arkansas?

You obviously haven't looked at the teams that Ohio St played very closely. It is shocking just how bad they are on offense. Those teams you listed that we played would boat race everyone of those bad teams that Ohio State played.

So the claim that Fields did not play in any 4th quarters really just shows how bad those teams are.

We will all see soon if they are legit or Fool's Gold.

Or it shows how insanely dominate Ohio State has been on both sides of the ball. I see alot being thrown around on this site about LSU defenders battling through injuries but Ohio State has done the same as well. Ohio State is flat out dominating their schedule and the defense is holding opponents to numbers well below their season averages.

If chalk holds, it honestly wouldn't surprise me much if they get absolutely crushed by Clemson in the first round again, and the Big 10 was much better in 2016 than it is now. All the UGA and OSU people hyping Fields are getting high on their own supply so to speak

Plumlee is faster, but Fields is by far a better passer. And OSU's offense is just much more dynamic than Ole Ms'

Joe has 28 more 4th quarter passes than Fields. They both have the same number of rushing attempts

I guess Fields would have thrown for 1500 yards and 7 TDs in those extra 4th quarter series.
