Tulane and Tech won their first SEC titles 57 and 52 years earlier than UF won their first SEC title. During their SEC lifetime Tech averaged a SEC title every 6.4 years while Tulane averaged one every 10.3 years. Florida averages one every 13.4 years. Currently that makes Florida 5th on the list of average length of time between SEC titles with Bama at 3.33 years, UGA at 5.88, Tennessee at 7.23 and LSU at 9.4.......

Mississippi State also won their first SEC title 51 years before Florida won their first...

Never forget it took UF almost 80 years to do once what GT and Tulane did multiple times in less than 40 years.....UF was the last current member of the SEC that has won a title to do so before all the others had done it MULTIPLE times other than Mississippi State.....

Throw them out. They just got here. The rest of you got some explaining to do. We left in 1963.

Adding 30 years that Arkansas and South Carolina were not in the SEC, nice.

I love people who do not get very basic shite like population. No Florida schools were successful till AC became common in homes(not invented, common). Notice no school in Florida won a Natty til the 80's?

After the 1980s..the schools in the State have 11 national titles...you would notice a trend if you were in Pre-K. Basic cause and effect. Not sure why it is very hard to get at all; trolling I guess? I mean..seems very, very simple.

Has the air conditioning in Florida been broken for the past 10+ years?

South Carolina still has more ACC football championships than Georgia Tech and USC left in 1971 -

GT's 2009 ACC CG win was vacated by the NCAA as a result of sanctions from the 4 year probation ruling -

GT won the ACC in 1990 and 1998. As far as I know SCar's only ACC title is 1969.

that 2009 trophy is indeed still over on The Flats - and we all enjoyed y'all beating Clemp - Spurrier got Dabo the week prior too -

someone made mention above too that Tech tied FSU in 1998 and of course the 1990 1st place -

What's funny is that UF still won 3 title games before UGA won their first. Ouch.

They've won one outright and tied for another.

The "tie" in 1998 is a joke
They lost head to head against FSU.
Claiming a tie when you lose a head to head is a joke.
