JT Daniels isn’t sure if he’s coming back next season?

Just saw a tweet that Daniels was asked about coming back in 2021 and he said it’s “not something he’s given much thought to.”

He’s just a redshirt sophomore isn’t he? Why wouldn’t he come back for another year considering that he really doesn’t have that much college tape out there?

It's crazy how everyone is taking this quote and assuming he meant he hasn't given much thought on returning when he could simply mean he hasn't thought about it one way or the other? Granted, I haven't seen the direct quote of the exchange so I am assuming. Really matters how the question was posed.

Come back just to have Kirby lead them to another mediocre bowl?

Just sounds like bland coach/QB speak where he's just saying he hasn't thought about leaving or staying at all. He's "just focused on what's in front of me".

Especially in what looks like a pretty loaded QB class. He would be better off waiting a year.

Did somebody on the baseball team yell racial epithets at him?

With all the QBs in and around the first couple of rounds this year, he'd be crazy to go.

I heard the announcers during the ga vs Vandy saying he said definitely he's coming back for next season.

That game never happened. So maybe a different game?

JT had some mocks after 1 game putting him in the first round. Realistically he’s a second rounder at best with the depth of the draft this year. Would laugh my tail off if he did come and get drafted before opt out quitter Jamie Newman. I fully expect JT to come back as he could put on a show next year and really put together a good draft profile.

If he can have a season like he's had the last three games he can.

Seems fairly straightforward. If he gets a good draft grade, he’s gone. Not sure there’s a QB out there this isn’t true for.

Why would he be locked in on a decision.

If Monken comes back, I feel strongly that JT Daniels will return.
If Monken leaves, I dont see JT coming back.

I think they are a tandem right now.

I feel confident that Monken returns.
But I didnt expect Tennessee to throw money at Chaney and I didnt expect Arkansas to offer a position coach the head coaching job. Stranger things have happened.

So what would Daniels do if Monken doesn’t come back and Daniels decides not to do so either? Go pro and hope to get a shot as an UDFA? Seems like a weird move to make just because the OC you liked wasn’t going to be at UGA.

What would be a “good grade” for him? Or what grade can he really be expecting to get? He’s only played like 4 or 5 games in the last two years, so I doubt he can get much more than maybe a 4th or 5th round grade, if that. Seems like a no-brainer to come back, unless he has some other reason that he needs to go now.

You think Daniels would be an UDFA this year and possible 1st rounder next season?

Where is your head at?

He'd likely be a 3rd to 4th rounder this year.
He'd sit a year learning the pros as he heals up his knee more.
And he would push to start in 2022 for whomever takes him in the draft.

If Monken stays, JT stays. If Monken goes, JT could shop around for another OC somewhere else in the country but I think it is more likely that he takes a contract and renegotiates after a year in a system.
