So does this mean Joey Gatewood will get to play immediately for Kentucky? Or is this the ole NCAA bottom of the deck shuffle?

It literally seems like they have a two person committee who decides immediate eligibility by playing rock, paper, scissors.

All I am saying is he left the girl that brought him to the dance to take a chance on a prettier girl who was flirting with him, but has other options as well. That new girl may end up saying no and he will be leaving the dance alone. He had every right to leave Wake if he wanted to, but the decision may backfire. No one forced this on him so I'm not going to feel sorry for him if this backfires in his face.

Wake had a better qb than uga did when he left. He wasn’t guaranteed the starting job at wake either.

Welp, he was beat out by a 3 star....so there's that. FTR, I know he was injured but he wasn't taking the starting job at USC.

You may be right... then again the EXACT same kinds of things were said about Burrow... can’t beat out the starter so he ran... third guy on the depth chart... he got hurt in the Spring but wasn’t winning the job... I’m not saying Daniels is Burrow by any stretch but the fact is no one knows what he is or is not yet.

He simply didn’t play bad enough to lose his job by any reasonable measure. Kirby made the same decision any other coach would have made.

Did you see that LSU game? I know you did. Fromm shouldn't have seen the second half.

Coaches should have been waiting for a chance to play Fields, not looking for reasons to keep Fromm. Fields is literally better at everything. Play the best kid.

He's better than the program, and their lack of talent forced them to lean on him so much that he eventually got hurt.

He's taking his shot at millions.

I hope he succeeds.

The vast majority of current NFL QB's have come from programs outside of the top tier programs. If anything, playing for a smaller school and having to put the team on their back is what develops these guys into NFL leaders. Daniel Jones, Gardner Minshew, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Drew Lock, Philip Rivers, Josh Allen, Derek Carr, Big Ben, Garoppolo, Matt Ryan, Dak Prescott, Wentz, Brees, Mahomes, etc. Georgia hasn't exactly pumped out tons of NFL QB's. Matt Stafford was the #1 QB recruit in the country. He was supposed to be a sure fire NFL starter one day. These other guys played for small schools, stayed at small schools and became NFL starters. They didn't have to transfer to a top 5 team to do that. More power to Newman, but I won't be crying for him if this doesn't work out like he planned. He can't say he was lacking in opportunity. He abandoned the opportunity that was given to him.

That game was bad. Similar to auburn 2017. Team didn’t show up. Fields wouldn’t have changed the outcome because he wasn’t ready to do so. I also doubt he finishes that season as well as Fromm did, which was #2 nationally in passing.

Agree, but that was the move nearly every coach makes. Kirby naturally wanted to keep both qbs. It was too soon in the portal era to know fields was going to leave without the job. In any other era, fields stays at uga, and is our 2020 qb.

Kirby has been a head coach for 4 seasons in his life, it's crazy people don't think people can grow on the job.

When you pay a guy $7million per year, there's no such thing as growing on the Job, you better be able to DO THE JOB

Agreed.
SECCG 3 years in a row.
Looking to make it 4.

This time. The elite recruiting classes are actually upperclassmen.

How crazy is it to think that Smart gets a talent upgrade this year.

Why wouldn't he have a shot at millions at WF?

It's not like Utah State is better than Wake Forest and that didn't stop Jordan Love from getting a 6.5 mil signing bonus and a 4 year contract at 3 mil per year. Not sure I understand the move.

He would, but uga is a far better place for his interview. Better RBs, better ol, George Pickens, better offensive system
