you really expect Kirby to make the right decision on who his starter should be?

Kirby has been a head coach for 4 seasons in his life, it's crazy people don't think people can grow on tbe job. I'm sure the fields situation has made a mark on him, and we've already retooled the offense. You don't think saban made mistakes while at msu, or orgeron at ole miss? Richt has publicly said several times that he always regretted redshirting knowshon in 06 and after that never redshirted the high level studs again.

It's just comical that people want to compare the decision making of a newbie less than 5 years on tbe job to people that have been doing it 10 or 20 years.

Missing last season with an injury may have been a consideration

The timing of injury argument actually does have some logic. Had he gotten injured in practice the week before the first game of 2019 he could have transferred, sat out 2019 and been eligible this year. But because the injury happened a week later during the first game, he has to miss two seasons instead of one? It's like a "time served" argument.

Don't they get a redshirt now if they play in less than 5 games in a season?

I'm very curious as to how this was granted.

Do you even Justin Fields, baw?

Some drunk 'neck said the mean words, so he HAD TO hightail it out of Athens. The environment was so hostile, he had no choice but to transfer out.

Granted, it wasn't bad enough that his little sister wasn't okay to stay, but still...

Another African-American qb thrown away by Confederate Kirby. It's sad really.

Welp, he was beat out by a 3 star....so there's that.

Not exactly, unless you think Eason was "beat out" by Fromm. Daniels and Eason both WON the starting job over their counterparts before getting injured in tbe first game of their sophomore season. Enter the backup who just happened to perform really well and rode out the rest of the season.

Yea he can get his redshirt regardless, but the guy still had a tough break getting a season ending injury in the first game. Saying you already missed a full season due to injury is as good of a reason as any of the other waiver's that have been granted.

There's a reason he left USC. Slovis is a better qb.

Didn't UGA recently have a kid who wanted to xfer because of a dying relative and got denied immediate eligibility?

NCAA eligibility waiver process makes absolutely zero sense.

They really just need to amend their policies on transfers at this point and let players transfer, without penalty of sitting out a year. There's no point in having defined policy and not following it.

Luke Ford transferred to Illinois from UGA and the NCAA denied his waiver.

I think Maryland had a player transfer in who was also denied a waiver and the relative died before they could see the kid play.

Yes.

And the fields Fromm thing would have ended up the same way with most, if not all, coaches.

Slovis had a great season last year and no coach would sit a guy after doing that.
