Nor do they want ....SMU in the ACC.
I'd rather be playing SMU than half the teams in the ACC
I would trade Wake Forest, NC State, and Virginia for almost anyone.

South Carolina and Arkansas are still good fits.
They haven’t won a division or a championship. Maybe having them for an easy win?

It should be like the NFL was at 16 games:
16 team leagues. Your 9 conference games are you annual 3 opponents, another division, and the team that ranked the same as you in the two other divisions.
We are at it right now.

To Texas, yes.. but to OU it’s a W on the schedule

This totally ignores TV, which would be a major factor in any realignment scenario.
The idea of regionals will likely not happen. We are headed the opposite way. Conferences are growing their footprint both geographically and financially. A regional alignment scenario every one would be giving up too much.

You’re in the minority.
I think FSU had way more pull in years before than you think they do now.

Great point about the good games
Outside your conference. Not going to get many if any of those now because it doesn’t benefit anyone in terms the playoffs. We need to go back to two teams playing for the NC.

Rice would also be a decent fit

I'm just thinking it's similar to LA & NJ being in the same conference (& Cal/Stanford in the ACC).

I agree that those examples make no sense.
But, as I pointed out, people already argue about the Group _ /Power _ setup right now. WHAT will more conferences create?
& how long did it take to finally get a p/o to settle the "who is better" by it actually being answered on the field (granted the participants selection has been questionable)?

Personally, I welcome expansion...with the only requirement that each POWER conference matches in size.
The GROUP conferences should also match each other.
It just helps any kind of cross-conference matchups easier to schedule.

Make it more logical for the SEC by booting Kentucky and UT and including Georgia Tech and Clemson. Use the Alabama - Tennessee line as the demarkation of how north we go. Kentucky is worthless and "I hate orange"

Similar? It takes six hours to fly to Newark from Miami? No.
