. If you're trying to insinuate he just didnt like Kelly, why did he spend 7 years with him at ND and then another 2 years down here with him later on?

Pretty clear he just didn’t like LSU

That aside, if Kelly’s first choices produced the worst defense in the SEC, I’m not sure why you expect hus 2nd choices to be much better.

If a guy "just didn't like LSU" and stayed 2 years, Inge, Grubb, and the Huff must have absolutely hated Alabama.

Or again, stay with me here, the dude has was born, grew up and coached the majority of his career in the north and simply likes living up there. Not exactly uncommon. Should we talk about the multiple coaches Deboer brought in to Bama who didnt even make it to the 1st season?

Well considering Blake Baker, Bo Davis, Corey Raymond among others recently hired on the defensive side have clearly produced great results in the past, one could easily deduce things will probably get a bit better there. Also, not sure why you think 1 bad decision makes it a permanent thing, you think Kelly has never had a good defense or something

College football the way it’s going and constant recruiting or NFL. Tough choice.

But anyway, Alabama tier 1.

You realize your OC was fired after two years at Indiana and that your DC only has two years of coordinator experience, right?

Imagine how good the Ole Miss staff would be if they had anyone besides Pete Golding coaching defense

From The Athletic after his retirement:

“To be honest, this last season was grueling,” the 72-year-old Saban told ESPN’s Rece Davis. “It was a real grind for us to come from where we started to where we got to. It took a little more out of me than usual. When people mentioned the health issue, it was really just the grind.”

Saban, who spent 17 seasons at Alabama, said he became more directly involved with his team’s defense, which took his attention away from other aspects of the job.

“It put a little more stress on me, made me feel like maybe I wasn’t doing as good a job as I needed to in other parts of our team,” he said. “I just have a high standard for how I do things. If I don’t feel like I’m living up to that standard, I’m really disappointed. … I felt like I could have done a better job if I was younger.”

But Bama fans say they didn't miss Golding...

If it’s DeBusts offense, why did an NFL franchise hire Grubb?

LOL. A panic hire and several other coaches who also have no ties to and no experience with or knowledge of the SEC

Yea but this dude has the highest winning percentage of any active coach and took over a 4 win team and IMMEDIATELY transformed them into national contenders. Why folks believe this guy is Bryan Harsin level is beyond me. Panic hire? Deboer was on the radar day one. So were others but make no mistake, Deboers name was being mentioned early and often.
I wonder how many people here who say this was a bad hire actually went...damn, that's a pretty good hire...when Bama hired Deboer?

He said LSU is borderline Tier 1, losing Denbrock is what put them in Tier 2.

I wonder if we'd known Chip Kelly was looking to move one, it we'd have gone after him.

Kirby and Ryan Day are higher, just off the top of my head.

Dabo is right there close probably.

No. I missed the comma. Should be….

DeBoer runs the offense, same as Kiffin does at Ole Miss, same as Spurrier did at Florida.

This is a lie. If it were true, the Seahawks wouldn’t have hired Grubb.

Do you honestly think an NFL franchise would hire an OC who wasn’t running the offense?
