Oh I didn't know that

I guess I missed it because 2/3rds of the league is trash. I stand corrected.
What the Big Ten is NOT doing right now is requiring every team to play a P4 nonconference game, as the SEC does. I guess this would address that concern, but I just doing see it happening given the ACC rivalry games that aren't getting bumped (in my opinion).

Part of that agreement needs to require all west coast teams to always have to travel to SEC site

This is about money, pac time zone has most area for viewer growth, there will be a sacrificial lamb from the sec going out west for a late game.

I agree with this 100%

Ohio State is already doing that but what IU is doing should be illegal.

Is this a match up top to bottom based on last year’s finish or just a pairing of most compelling matchups?

The only way to do this is to average the last 4 or 5 seasons by conference standings and pair up comparable teams, and review it every 4 or 5 years and adjust. That should be in a contract, and it makes sense, so what will probably happen is they'll just look at standings now and lock Ohio State vs Ole Miss or Kentucky for the next 20 years.

what in the absolute hell is the point of this?

IMO, looks like a step towards moving B1G and SEC football away from NCAA control.

Concur. I'd rather play MD, NW, or Rutgers instead of Vandy, Arky, and MSU.

They just need to randomly rotate the matchups each year by tiers.

If they do this I hope they switch back to an 8 game SEC schedule. They went to 9 to preserve some historic rivalries but I just don't see how they can do it. Just need to tell each school they'll have 1 annual football rivalry and that each school can choose. I'd hate to lose UT-Bama, UGA-Auburn, Ole Miss-LSU or State, but I'd imagine at this point all these schools would sacrifice that to get away from the 9 game schedule.

Is Alabama still trying to back out of their Home & Home series with Ohio State?

Either way, it will be awesome. Makes more sense to do it based on last season's finish and the B1G just has to leave out its bottom two (unless the SEC is about to expand to 18 or both are moving to 20...)

Bama is already playing a H-H with Ohio State on top of the 9 team SEC schedule.

That means Bama will play at least 8 teams who were ranked in the top 15 or beat a top 15 team this year. Insane

Building a new bazillion dollar stadium also....something is brewing at NW. Vandy could be the next Indiana also. Richest school in the SEC by a mile. If they invested the money they could be elite.

Sankey needs to go. This is further legitimizing that conference on equal footing as the SEC.

The natural progression to a super league consisting of about 48 or so programs. Some of the programs who add little to nothing to the SEC or BIG12 aren't going to be included.

If y'all think Sankey got played with the move to 9 conference games wait until the BIG10 is playing Nebraska and Rutgers and Minnesota and what not while your team is playing Alabama, UGA, LSU, Texas and Oklahoma AND Ohio State. If they can come up with some way to have the BIG12 play something other than a 1-2 game season and 10 or 11 cupcakes and more like a 6-7 game season like SEC teams play it'd be interesting. That is not what it sounds like they are contemplating.....

Here's an idea....have UGA swap schedules with Indiana and Ohio State swap with Alabama.....they ain't having none of that shite....

Yeah Nebraska isn’t what they used to be, but they are a bit more talented than those teams you mentioned with them
