If A&M were to fire Jimbo, they would owe him 95 million guaranteed.

Which means they would owe him 23,750,000 in the first 60 days, and then 8,906,250 annually through 2031. Congrats to Jimbo on this insane contract.

Forgive my math, but it seems like after only four years of a 10 year contract they decided to extend him another four years?

If so, that’s ridiculous.

Typical Aggie, making them regret their decision after the deed is done

He should be thanking Orgeron for the contract. O's collapse in 2020 allowed Fisher to use the eventual opening of the LSU job as leverage for the big extension. He was able to go to the A&M money people and say: "The LSU job is going to be opening in the near future. I already considered it once before and NOW the AD that brought me here is there. If you want to make sure I stay here when the LSU job opens in a year or two, let's go ahead and lock in a new, lucrative, extension after my "great" covid season."

I feel like us deplorables on tigerdroppings need to get some cred as well. If it weren't for the rantards starting thread after thread of "we need to go get Jimbo" then A&M would've never felt like anyone was after him.

It's fun to laugh at the Aggies.

...But we pretty much gave Brian Kelly the same deal.
So far, it looks like it'll be good for LSU. A&M thought they were on the right track too...

I don't want to laugh too hard at the Aggies - yet.

It's not that much, he's already over a year into the new contract.

His buyout is about $86M after this season.

To me, it's all about recruiting! If A&M falters & Jimbo loses the team's morale, no good kids are going there & their top talents will be in the portal. That's important to LSU, especially since we still have a lot of room for shollys!

We owe coach O a lot honestly. He got us a natty. We get two bad seasons ?? And then hire a coach who’s done a phenomenal job and A&M looks to be in shambles for the next decade. I’ll take that all day.

Not quite, LSU is on the hook for 90% of the remainder if Kelly doesn’t win a Natty.

Has there ever been a bigger fraud in the history of coaching than Jimbo? The good news for him is that I suspect that he has about the same room temp IQ as Ed and will be bragging about his $80Mm buyout to the Little Rock Touchdown club very soon
