a lot of things are cheaper on the walmart app than it is instore.

I was in Wal-Mart and saw a JBL bluetooth speaker I wanted in the case (roughly $300). I had seen it at BestBuy earlier for a slightly better price (Lets say $50 off). Checked the Wal-Mart app and it was the same as BestBuy.

Asked the chick at the counter and she said they couldn't give it to me for the price shown in the app. I would have to order it from the app and wait like an hour for them to pull it and then I could "pick it up".

I was so pissed I drove over to Best Buy and bought it there...

Walmart fricks you over for being in the store...

In college we went water skiing with a buddy's boat. Afterwards, he dropped the trailer off the end of the boat ramp so the tires were stuck against the ledge.

There was nowhere to grab to lift the trailer but one of the crossmembers. Buddy and I on either side lifted the trailer enough to get the tires dis-lodged, but then the driver pulled forward too fast and the trailer went over my leg and pinned me underwater. I managed gasp a breath as I went under and then was able to free my leg and stand up just as I was about to run out of air.

Always think the plan through - I should have made sure my leg placement was away from the trailer a bit farther. Just didn't think of what could happen in the moment.

Starter?
My son went to get gas in his X5 and then it would not start. Starter did not even try to turn over. Weirdly it also refused to release the parking brake - tow truck had to drag it up the ramp to get it on the truck.

German cars have some strange behavior when something goes wrong.

I got a BeatBot last year - it is good but not incredible.

Had a Polaris Quattro (runs off a booster pump) which I really liked, but I needed to replace some parts on it as it was wearing out. removing the booster pump and hose was a big factor in getting something different.

I was looking at a bunch, but then BeatBot had an offer with 3 year warranty included - so I took a chance. It cleans about 90% of what I see when I drop it in. They do release updates - but so far, nothing has allowed me to change some of the settings that I think would improve it's performance. Hopefully they will continue to update it.

I'm happy to go another 2 years with this one and then we'll see. So far no issues other than the paint job fading a bit.
Had lunch with a friend from Eastern Europe - I ordered turtle soup - she said it tasted like horse...

That's as close as I can get you
OSX Password Reset.

Once you get access to the machine, having access to her email account will help with AppleID reset. Still gonna be some hurdles as you'll need answer to security questions - but hopefully they are logical and you can get through it.
I found a way to force reset an OSX password once...let me see if I still have the steps.

AppleID is going to bite you in the arse though.
Also just an FYI - some streaming services are included with other things you already pay for - AT&T mobile service includes an HBO Max subscription.

re: Help with Mesh WiFi System

I am running the TP-Link Deco Mesh which has been great for about 6 months.

I have AT&T Fiber - Hardwired one Deco unit upstairs, and the other 2 communicate with the base wirelessly and serve the downstairs.

This is the one I have, but there are higher end models - I had no need for those features, so I opted to not pay the premium for things I wouldn't use (WiFi 7)

Th e TP-Link Tapo cameras have pet detection feature that works well. I have never had it alert an animal incorrectly as a human.

I have used my computer's UPS backup to fire it up and run so we could shower. It works...Just depends on how many days you are out of power. You may end up having to run a generator cord to the UPS to let it recharge.
Just want to add these steps when troubleshooting errors:

1. Unplug all external devices - only thing that should be plugged in to USB is a keyboard and mouse.
2. ALWAYS reseat your RAM when you have these types of issues. Pop it out and push it back in firmly.

Also if you have multiple RAM sticks try removing all but one and see if your startup changes. Work through all sticks you may have a bad stick.
I carry a deejo. I like that it is minimalistic in design. They have tons of options for accent piece and blade designs.

re: Toyota RAV4 vs Mazda CX

Slightly different comparison but we almost got a Highlander (I’ve had a Tundra for 16 years so am a Toyota fan). But the Toyotas lack a sense of sportiness (for lack of a better term).

We chose the CX-9. Mazda drives better and has a nicer interior for about the same money - if not less. Got it in 2020 and have done only routine maintenance.

Engine is a solid design and has some flexibility as well - doesn’t require premium gas - but if you use premium, you get more power.

I’m a Toyota fan - but if I had to buy today, it would be a Mazda.

I do a good bit of small business consulting. I recommend to my clients that they just use Windows Defender and supplement with Malware Bytes.

If you are going to spend money - I would spend it on Malware Bytes. The free version will not run automatically. Paid version of MB runs scheduled scans.

That combo has worked well.

I used the Carista tool to turn it off permanently.

Check if it is compatible with your vehicle.

You sure you're in the right folder? Occasionally mine will switch folders when I open it.

Check the "< Folders" at the top left and make sure it shows the correct folder.

Mine will switch to the folder under my account - but there is also a folder under "On My Phone" where all of my notes live.
Zorba's - food is great - they have a nice enclosed "outdoor" area.

re: Anyone here work in tech?

I think you need to decide on your desired type of position - sounds like you want to code...but there are lots of other tech jobs.

You could even look into project manager certifications...since it's important to understand the tech skills behind the projects.

I am in my mid-fifties and have done a lot of varied tech stuff - from coding, support, database work, server management, and some networking. Since I have a lot of different skills, I have been able to adapt to job changes as the projects change.

You could look at the state civil service website to see the types of positions currently hiring. State will be somewhat lower pay, but good benefits and a pension. Probably a slightly easier entry point as well...
