Alabama had a Heisman Trophy winner and a future #1 pick play in a non playoff bowl game last year.

LSU players are soft.

If you just won the Heisman, would you risk literally TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars to play Wisconsin for fricking nothing at all?

Yes, because I would be more grateful to my teammates, fans, and University for everything they’ve done to help me get to that point. Sorry that your Heisman winner quarterback doesn’t give 2 craps about you or anyone else that’s supportive or involved with LSU football

I have no ill will towards anyone who opts out, but I sure do appreciate the ones who don't opt out a lot more. There can be a lot of money at stake and who knows what I would do if I were in the same situation.

Yes, he has given the middle finger to the LSU faithful. He cares nothing for the fans who has gobbled his nuts for the last 10 weeks. They were his cheerleading clapping seals and he shows no appreciation.

It’s funny to me you guys actually think a college QB whose about to be a first round draft pick has loyalty to his school that trumps a meaningless bowl game against a meaningless opponent that no one gives a shite about ( including clearly the starting QB ) lol.

Wasn’t Lynyrd the first to start this bowl opt out trend? Pretty sure that he was.

Another day, another Bama melt.

They're the gift that keeps on giving.

Agree completely! With Daniels playing, this was an even matchup...without him, there's no counter to L$U's wet-paper bag defense, and now Whisky can just run and run and run. Throw in 2 average coaches going at it, and this has the makings of a small Whisky win, and one tired L$U defense at the end of the game, trust me.

It just seems like the further these L$U PussyCats get from Les Miles, the less tough they get...

Bryce Young was a former Heisman Trophy winner whose Top 5 status in the draft was all but sewn up. Yet he decided to play with his teammates one final time in a "meaningless" Sugar Bowl game against Kansas State.

Bama is just a different animal.

Granted, it was still the Sugar Bowl and not whatever shite bowl Daniels lead LSU to.

The sport is imploding at a breakneck pace.

Bowl games are quickly turning into exhibition games for 2nd and 3rd stringers. I would expect the first CFP optouts to start in a year or two.
If you count portal jumpers as opting out we have two already. Maalik Murphy had to go now to find a decent landing spot, and Jalen Catalon (part time starter due to his injuries more than anything else) also decided to move along before our semi-final.

So maybe he has a chance to be considered in the same class as Joe Burrow?

Sorry. Don't know what I was thinking.
