A cursory glance at the Tiger Rant would immediately prove you wrong.

The main thread re: Daniels opting out is filled with those wishing him luck.

But look, I would not expect an honest response from someone who told LSU fans to die in a hurricane before, which you’ve done. So you get a pass here. I wouldn’t expect any less.

In his defense, he’s the only Heisman QB in the playoff era whose team isn’t in the playoff and who has nothing to prove by playing a mid-tier bowl.

To play devil's advocate, he was "legally" paid a lot of money. Does he give some back now?

Actually he’s not. Caleb Williams opted out weeks ago. So he’s the first. Maybe correct your incorrect thread title.

Dunno about paying anything back but imagine being the bowl or the bowl sponsor thinking you got an exciting matchup with the heisman winner and then ... nope

He could have just as easily been knocked out with a devastating injury in the first quarter against Georgia State - a meaningless game against an even more meaningless opponent. He had already made his point by then.

This is 100% correct and is why I shake my head at people vehemently defending him. The Heisman was decided by the aTm game. Why risk playing?

Why do the best LSU players always quit on their team?

Man it’s nice to root for a team that can have the #1 and #2 picks play in their meaningless bowl games because of their love for Alabama and the team.

Alabama football’s culture is MILES ahead of everyone else in CFB.

And on another planet from whatever has been going on at LSU.

If you just won the Heisman, would you risk literally TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars to play Wisconsin for fricking nothing at all?

he won the Heisman and pretty much secured a top 5 pic playing 12 games. Taking a month off to play in a meaningless bowl game is pointless. I know you are probably trolling, trolls don't work when most of the fanbase thinks he should opt out at this point.

Bryce had a lot to gain by playing in that game.
Dude he was a lock to be a top 3 pick and thought to be the #1 pick.

Anderson was in the same boat and played as well. And the Sugar Bowl is just as meaningless as the ReliaQuest bowl.

He won the Heisman because Bo Nix and the Oregon Ducks lost to Washington in the PAC 12 Championship Game. He already had a Top 5 pick secured prior to the Georgia State game.

Bowl games used to not matter.

Then they kinda did.

now with the playoffs they don’t anymore.

I cant blame guys for not risking millions to play in the Reliaquest Bowl

For his teammates? For LSU? For the fans who bought tickets and contributed to his NIL money? For pride?

Nope, screw all that and just show me the money.

If you think his last few games didn't help him in the Heisman IDK what to tell you...I also don't know why a bama fan would care

Why would Bryce Young play? Or Will Anderson? Or Gibbs?

It might be because they give a shite about their teammates and finishing the right way. I know that’s not high on the priority list for LSU players…
