Who was it?
They've appeared in two Sugar Bowls this century and one of those was for a national championship.
Tommy Polley?

If your son just won the Heisman and was about to become a multi millionaire as a 1st round draft pick. Would you tell him to play in a meaningless bowl game against an un-ranked team?
I would tell him it is his decision and hope that his decision is based on the values I had tried to instill in him since birth.

Comparing a major college football game to day to day activity is absurd.

I would tell my son to make his own decision because he is a grown man.

I think CCGs die away, eventually.
Even though, once teams wrap-up a spot in a CCG, they will rest players because of the value of getting a bye.
It will happen. And, teams not in the CFPs will basically fall apart with transfers and opt outs.
Cfb isn't dead, but it will forever be different than how we knew it

Appears only non LSU fans seem to care about this
I sure don’t, and don’t blame anyone for opting out when they are a solidified first round pick
In fact I’d encourage it if it were my son

not only that, but he didn't win the heisman last year.
Daniels is the first ever player to win the heisman in a year and go pro that same year without making the playoffs from what I can tell.
