How can you compare an OT win vs an unranked Pitt (that lost to GT) to an LSU that never trailed vs a HEALTHY top 25 Texas team (finish 8-4 and was decimated by injuries later that year).

2019 LSU averaged 7.6 ypp and with a 15 game schedule that included top 4 teams
at the time; Alabama (#13 defense), Georgia (#1 defense), Clemson (#3 defense), Oklahoma. Tennessee is only averageing 7.2 ypp against the children of the blind a below average LSU and the worst Alabama team in 15 years.

Here's the final ranking of the teams LSU crushed in 2019 en route to the National Championship and greatest season of all time.

#2 Clemson
#4 Georgia
#6 Florida
#7 Oklahoma
#8 Alabama
#14 Auburn
#25 Texas

What's even more absurd is the YPP against top 10 teams we played that year.

Georgia 7.6 ypp
Clemson 7.98 ypp
Oklahoma 9.35 ypp
Florida 10.64 ypp
Alabama 7.07 ypp
Average 8.52 ypp

We are not the same.

Appreciate it, these Tennessee fans act like they are special. They're not.

How about letting this season finish first. They can still lose some games the rest of the way.

2019 LSU would DESTROY this Tenn
Team. Wouldn't even be close.

Tennessee is not generally regarded to be the best college team THIS year, much less "of all time".

Tennessee has proven it cannot win with class because most their redneck fans are classless.

I’m not sure they’re even the best Tennessee team of the last two seasons.

Of course they are. Could beat any NFL team. No sense even finishing the season. It’s done. It’s over. Engrave the trophy.

Ball State, Pitt, and Akron are cakewalks

Gators are down, UK beat them at home

LSU and Auburn are too Jekyll & Hyde to know what they can do

Won at home on a wobbly FG is not the same as winning neutral or away

Vols may be good, but if they get exposed say by Georgia, it will be months of laughs on here. Get your popcorn either way!

what does that even mean?

It means using the same screwed up logic LSU fans use when they try to claim 2019 is the GOAT.

Where LSU tries to claim being the GOAT while at the same time having 3 very close games. 3 point win over Auburn, 5 point win over Alabama and a 7 point win over Texas.

Because LSU wasn't elite on both sides of the ball, they had close games and the margin of victory shows that.

Of course, by LSU standards, 2020 Alabama was better which is why your fanbase tries to pretend the season didn't count, or that LSU's games against Northwestern St and Georgia St make them better.

The true GOAT is 1995 Nebraska.

Only in the minds of LSU fans are wins of 3, 5 and 7 points "crushing" the opponents.

Joe Burrow and that offense would have hung 50 on that Tennessee defense.

You don't need Joe burrow to hang 50 on our defense lol. Joe tereshinski could probably do it.

Game was played in slop mud, LSU outgained Auburn 508 to 287. Auburn had the best Dline in football.

5 point win over Alabama
Was 33-13 halftime, you scored half your points on a punt return, a trick play, and Stingley falling down at the end when the game was over. Also, we were on your 37 yd line with a minute left and went V formation, but we could have made it a 12 point game if you would have liked.

quote:

7 point win over Texas.
Texas was decimated on defense with injuries after our game with them, including 3 of their 4 starting DBs. They still finished ranked #25 and 8-4. They would have given Bama all they could handle if healthy. Tbh, they were tougher than Bama.

Maybe, but we will never know because their schedule wasn't anywhere near as difficult as ours.
