I do not like ostentatious religiosity. Tim Tebow is a football example. However this kid prays with his mom and seems to take.his religion seriously, which I respect. He also beat a great defense and may win the Heisman. Respect.

I am sure there are many here who disagree with this, but a lot of people think Landry is not smart and easily corruptible. And some ( including me) think Rousse is not qualified .
If you believe this, it appears that you have two weak links riding herd on Lane Kiffin, who is very aggressive and unpredictable.
Add in the re-hiring of will Wade and Louisiana's long-standing reputation for moral laxity, and its bad chemistry for those who worry about institutional control. They think there are no adults in the room to watch out for Lane's possible/ likely excesses.
The SEC's concerns are not irrational, but they handled it in such a heavy handed way that it was self -defeating.

Anybody that thinks Johnson has the ability or inclination to go for the jugular for those of us in the State needs to examine his history.
He’s friendly but has few accomplishments for the state or his district.
His focus is fully on national partisan interests, whether you agree with him or not.
His position is symbolically helpful to LSU, and that may be sufficient because there is only one Speaker.

The SEC overreached, but the President and the Speaker of the House had absolutely nothing to do with this.

I think there are plenty of problems with the SEC continuing this in any form:
1. Nobody has alleged a rules violation to my knowledge;
2. Because of no. 1, the SEC has invoked an allegation of "lack of institutional control" , an allegation that has not been adorned by any facts;
3. IF, lack of institutional control is a real rule there needs to be a fact based allegation and opportunity to respond;
4. Kiffin is not a member of the conference, so i do not see how the SEC can punish him .It can punish LSU, but only if it violates rules (see above).

Would this be a good time to take up the issue of why Sankey got such a poor TV contract with ABC/ESPN compared to what the BIG negotiated?
I don't understand the desire to be the bad guys.

I think a lot of LSU folks will remember Sankey, Tenn., Alabama and Ole Miss for a long time. Its ne thing to have an on-field rivalry, but to push it to the business level is a different matter.

I would be surprised if the BIG 10 was interested in LSU.They are already unhappy that Mich has given them a black eye and academically, LSU doesn't fit.
Seems to me this is primarily Ole Miss, Alabama, Tenn. and, for some reason UF. . I see others think Texas is involved, but i have not seen evidence of that, but would like to hear more about it.
I spent my entire life thinking Southerners were more friendly than New Englanders.. I've had to change my mind on this over the last 10-15 yrs.

In both cases, LSU made promises.
Lane chose to honor the promises made to the guy on his roster. Whether of not Lane personally made the promise, I respect that he honored it.

I view this as coming directly from Jayden's camp. It is an effort to recast their compliant, after finding the initial public C&D and explanation for it was poorly received by nearly everybody. Having Clark deliver the re-messaged, toned town compliant is an attempt to take down the volume and arrogance a notch but still maintain a sense of dignity..
