Is Texas A&M really a better job than Texas Tech?

There has been a lot of talk that Texas A&M is a sleeping giant because it has some boosters with very deep pockets, great facilities, and is located in one of the premier states for high school football.
However, is Texas A&M really even a better job than Texas Tech? The same Texas Tech that is never considered a "Sleeping Giant" or "Premier Job".
To support this let me point out that since the year 2000 Texas A&M has an overall record of 176 wins and 121 losses.
In that same time period Texas Tech has a record of 170 wins and 130 losses.
These numbers are very similar, and if Tech had not fired Mike Leach after the Adam James fiasco then they may have an even better record.
To any A&M fans that argue that Tech had a great coach in Leach, they should be reminded that they could have hired him, and for less money than what they paid Jimbo.
I am not saying that A&M couldn't be an elite program that is a consistent playoff team with the right coach, but I am saying that acting like A&M is without a doubt the second best job in the state of Texas might not be as cut and dry as people would like to think.

It's a better job but both are very average when it comes to results

It's not and tech is, with exception of a few years vastly inferior to the Aggies.

A&M is a much better job and it's not even close. All of Tech's numbers came from the Big12 where A&M had to navigate the SEC since 2012. A&M endowment is 18 billion and Tech is 1.7 to give you an idea of the money. A&M enrollment is 73k and Tech is 37k. College Station > Lubbock. My fav Leach quote about Lubbock: "My favorite weather pattern happens to be when it rains mud. Dust comes through, rain on top of it, and it rains mud." The only intelligent thing from your post is the fact that Tech never should have fired Leach.

Does Tech have Milkmen?

Compare, the money, facilities, and recruiting classes between the two. Just because A&M has made bad coaching hires doesn't mean it's not a better job.

He liked that better than the Grapes of Wrath style dust storms?

Hopefully the wind blowing in all the dirt is at least blowing the right way to blow all the massive feetlot stench away from the city. Otherwise. Whole coty Lubbock reeks of hot steaming cow shite. True story.

Yes A&M is better
A&M is cut and dry the 2nd best job in Texas. Problem is that none of the recent coaches has established a fundamentality sound program. They could fix that with the new hire or they could simply keep on hiring the glitz with no substance coaches that have recently occupied the position.

It is obvious that the OP has never been to Lubbock.
There is really nothing wrong with Tech. But Lubbock is maybe the worst place in the P5 when you consider the wind, dust, isolation, desolation...and the feed lots (which you alluded to).
It was the first place I ever lived outside of Oklahoma. And even coming from Oklahoma the weather was a shock. And the people were way more country and cowboy than OKC peeps.
OTOH, Tech has a decent campus (although it isn't very green)... and campus life is good. If you could airlift Tech and put it somewhere else in Texas it would be a lot better. But the reason it exists is because that was a giant, empty part of Texas but it wasn't served by a major University.
