Yes, this is more explosive. To leave an SEC team prior to a playoff appearance to go to a rival is much more explosive than SEC->NFL->SEC. Add to that social media is so much more prevalent now days and the level of outrage has increased as a result. Then season it all with Lane’s comments and tweets about Ole Miss and you have the recipe for hatred. So yeah, it is more explosive.
Can you imagine what LSU fans would have done if Saban had regularly trolled LSU his first year at Alabama like Lane has done to Ole Miss? They would have lost their minds.

Saban had gone to the NFL. Kiffin went straight to LSU.
Years had passed prior to Coach Saban returning to BR
Saban left LSU after a mediocre season and a bowl loss to Iowa
Kiffin left OM as they headed into the schools first playoff appearance.
When Saban left, LSU fans were upset but you didn’t hear the level of vitriol that we’re hearing from OM fans. If you don’t believe me, go back and look at TD’s
If Saban had left LSU the way Kiffin left OM, he would have needed real security upon his return.

I don’t know what OM fans you are talking to but we are excited about the future and if lsu wins that doesnt change that at all. We know lsu is the heavy favorite and it would be a monumental upset if OM pulls it off. But we great about the future
