The one argument left for them was Kirby making it to the NC game.

That is now gone.

So can we definitively say that Edward Orgeron is the second best coach in the SEC?

I believe we can.

Resume: 2-0 vs Kirby
Has beaten Bama
3-0 vs Gus
SEC Championship
CFP semi-final victory
Has beaten Texas (lol)
NY6 bowl victory
Berth in NC game.

You got to admit that coach O got lucky with hiring the right coaching staff. That is why Kirby's OC have not been good. Got to find other coaches to do their job and compete in the SEC. Kirby is a defensive coach. OC will continue to hunt Kirby until he get the right OC. Should have gone after Kendal Briles and that may get him to the Championship game!

Well Kirby never lost to Troy. Ed is an LSU guy and Kirby is a dawg. Neither side would want to swap.

Kirby is working with 2x the amount of 5* athletes that LSU is. Kirby has had top 4 talent for multiple years.

Started a thread about this yesterday. Georgia squaders talent like a brother slinging $5000 worth of tires and rims on a 91 Cutlass hooptie.

If we're including recruiting then I'll take Kirby all day

Can't disagree with any of this.

And CEO obviously learned a few lessons from his previous HC jobs.

So they have better receivers? lol

I’d even take CEH over Swift due to his ability to catch out of the backfield and that is no disrespect to Swift btw

How is making good hires "lucky"? Is it any luckier than getting players to commit out of high school to play for you? Finding assistants to fit your players and what you want to do is part of being a good head coach. That's one of the biggest part of their jobs.

2 are Sophs and it'll be interesting to see if Jefferson and Edwards-Helaire (RB) comes back.Thats some serious fire power at the skill posistions.

Burrow's successor is definitely getting the keys to a Ferrai if that group remain intact.

No to mention there are blue chip freshmen like Trey Palmer and Devonta Lee who barely saw the field this year and two freshmen lue chip running backs. LSU is not lacking in the least at the skill positions.

36-16 before the changes, 37-10, after, either way Ed was owning Kirby on game day

How much is Brady? How much is Burrow? How much is what appears to be a historically good receiving corps? I've watched every game, rewatched most of them, and I'm not sure how to split up the credit. But I am sure that Burrow was a lot better last year than this board has wanted to acknowledge. He showed great poise and leadership from the start and caught fire once Chase and Marshall started getting the targets. (I think JJ started the Miami game.)

Sure but having expirenced and talented returning SEC WR's is invaluable.

We lost our entire unit to EE's, suspensions and injuries and it absolutely killed our offense. Our 2 freshman were talented but the position is Unbelievably
difficult for a newcomer

none of this shite is relevant. You're just picking and choosing random things for no reason. It'd be like saying "kirby has never lost to a sun belt team lol". It just doesn't mean anything. It's also somehwat misleading, take bama for instance, orgerson is 1-6 against bama.

To the things that actually DO have relevance:

quote:

SEC Championship

kirby has one too

quote:

CFP semi-final victory

kirby too

quote:

NY6 bowl victory

and kirby

quote:

Berth in NC game.

and kirby

Here are the balck and white facts:

Orgeron, 7 3/4 years:
55-36 record (60%). 32-29 conference record. 1 SEC title. 1 CFP playoff appearance. 6 bowl games

Kirby, 4 years:
43-12 record (78%). 25-7 conference record. 1 SEC title. 1 CFP playoff appearance. 5 bowl games

A national title will elevate oregerson's resume above kirby's IMO, I don't see any possible way to argue otherwise. But at the moment I don't think it's a slam dunk case. Their current tenures are pretty dead even, this beign the first ever coachign gig kirby has had. No matter how much you want it to be so, orgeron has been a HC prior to LSU and those games count just the same.

Eh who cares if Ed or Kirby is the better coach.

Ed has LSU as the best team in the SEC and likely the country under his leadership in his third full year here and there's no legitimate reason why LSU cant continue to compete for the SEC title as long as O makes good hires and recruits well.

Georgia on the other hand, will keep doing what they've been doing until Kirby makes some offensive changes.
If he does that, watch out.

He lost to 6-7 Vanderbilt and 4-8 South Carolina. Not much of a difference there chief.

Kirby is zero for two against LSU Two blow outs. Case closed.

Does anyone really think that Georgia would be better than third in the SEC West the last three years

We understand no one from Georgia recognizes that the last two arse kickings of UGA by LSU reflects on Kirby.. it was part of Kirbys genius to lull us to sleep by letting LSU beat the crap out of a helpless Georgia team twice.

Oh, I don't disagree, but LSU will only lose at most one of their three-headed monster at WR. The freshmen from this year and incoming freshmen next year will just be gravy.
