You forgot the Jack Crowe and Danny Ford years which were knee jerk hires and keeping Nutt longer than we should have which further put us behind the eight ball.

Nutt had only one 10 win season but had multiple chances to win an SEC title here.

I would just throw the Softball SOS out the window. Until someone can beat them when it matters, just accept that they're the better program compared to Arkansas.

The chances are high for them winning yet another national championship, we'll see.

Bobby would have improved from a seven win program a year to a eight win average a year

Well the year you guys played Ohio St. in the Sugar Bowl was a great season
2011 11-2 6-2 3rd (West) Bobby Petrino W, Cotton Bowl Stats
2010 10-3 6-2 T-2nd (West) Bobby Petrino L, Sugar Bowl^

Last two season was not 8 win average and had you guys competing for the SEC title

Before Petrino fell off the bike, Arkansas was ranked eighth in the preseason polls. Tyler Wilson decided to return for another year and Knile Davis returned from a season ending injury.

I don't know if Arkansas would have went 10-2 again but I could see them finish 9-3 and a possibly bowl win. So Arkansas had a good chance of winning 10 games three years running.

But going into the 2013 season, Arkansas is likely to have a down year but not to the extent the failure that Bert had 0-8 in the SEC. Probable finish at 6-6 or 7-5 and probably another minor bowl win.

The 2014 season, Arkansas dropped four games that could have been wins. Instead of 6-6, Arkansas in reality was a 9-3 or 10-2 team. But Bert being the underachiever as he was, he did not disappoint.

Now the 2015 led by senior QB Brandon Allen. No way we lose to Toledo, we win at home against Texas Tech and Petrino allows Brandon Allen to go for the win on fourth down against Miss State. The only loss would be against Alabama and yet we led the whole game until the typical Bert collapse in the fourth quarter. Instead of the Bert 7-5, the team goes 11-1 and goes to a major bowl.

The 2016 season, the Bert collapse would be avoided and Arkansas wins against Missouri and Virginia Tech at a 9-4 finish.

The 2017 season, Arkansas continues to slide but I think Petrino can squeeze out 6 wins out of this team.

I think from that point on, I think Petrino would have some down years like 6-6 but I think he would eventually move on as 10 years or more is when coaches start getting stale and suffer burn out.

Florida hasn't been relevant since Tebow. Perhaps a move to the ACC should be in order.Might be able to finish second each year to Clemson.

Struck a nerve I see. Yes, I agree we haven’t done shite lately. However we accomplished more in a 3 year span from 2006-2008 (2 SEC titles, 2 National titles, 1 Heisman) than Arkansas has in the 120 year span of playing this sport.

Your success was a long time ago.Maybe going to a softer league will allow your program to feel some since of accomplishment.

Good luck.

Looking at all these mouth-breathers justifying their overall athletic program ineptitude by pointing at results in CTE-inducing neanderthal-ball.

Shameful.

It’s actually insane that with their history they can’t put a better product on the football field

Yeah, it's crazy. They should be an annual bowl team.

When they came into the league, I assumed they were going to fall somewhere into the Big 6 tier. And initially, they did.

Your success is non-existent. You’ve been in this conference for 30 years and have never even won a conference championship. I’m gazing into my crystal ball, yes, I see it now, in a another 30 years you will still be a joke of a football program.

We were back before we joined the SEC. We went like 23 years without a losing season.

The decline started when Ken Hatfield left Arkansas for Clemson after getting a lot of heat for not winning the big games and a dinosaur offense.

Then we hired a loser in Jack Crowe and lost to the Citadel after one game in his third year. Yet we still beat Tennessee, LSU and South Carolina that year with an interim coach in Joe Kines.

Then we hired Danny Ford that bailed out of Clemson when the NCAA started investigating. We won the west in 95 but Ford didn't do well enough to keep that momentum going.

Nutt was hired over more qualified candidates. Did well with Fords players but still didn't take full advantage. Then from that point on it is missed opportunities after another until he was fired. 10 years of bad coaching and underachievement and hog fans were ready to move on.

Petrino is the best coach we had since Lou Holtz and Ken Hatfield years. It took him three years to win 10 games and while it took Nutt nine years because you know Nutt didn't think it was necessary.

After that the higher ups just didn't care a bout football here and the hires after that proved that fact.

Now that may change with a better AD in Hunter Yuracheck and coach Sam Pittman.
