Sue for what exactly? If I can sick can I sue Walmart?
Who knows how they would word it- reckless public endangerment, something along those lines. You can sue for anything you want, even if you probably won't win.
The point is, LSU is not going to want something like that hitting the news cycle.
As for Walmart; why do you think those barricades are in place at entrances? To try to say "we've done something". It wasn't a law, it was a CYA. So yeah, I wouldn't put it past people to sue them, either.
I don't like it any more than you do

Well you’ve at least proven you didn’t go to law school with this post. So there’s that.

Moreso for employees probably. That and customer peace of mind
Not sure a lawsuit agains an essential business would go well. Some states do have very specific restrictions wrt how businesses like that can operate though.
The big thing with fans in stadiums is that it would likely be nightmare PR - to the extent it could possibly tank the program.

Most are but won’t admit it.

We have Lincoln Riley talking about moving it to the spring.
Stop right there when Lincoln Riley starts talking!

One of the proposals in the new stimulus package is a liability clause protecting businesses from lawsuits if customers are infected by covid. Im assuming sporting events would be included. But, it's only a proposal.

So I didn't mean "liability", in that LSU would likely be legally bound due to someone contracting the virus.
Instead, that it could be disastrous in the court of public opinion.
And no, I didn't go to law school
So, sorry if my semantics are off. Y'all know what I mean.

As a CFB fan, I am more worried about the new trend of players trying force the coaches and schools to do and say things that push their political narratives. That will kill college sports faster than the Chinese Flu will IMO.

Are you sure about this?

Wrong. Daily US COVID deaths are around 600 right now but experts expect an increase.

I really like the idea of Spring football.
But, wish it kicked off in Jan and not Feb as is being discussed. A New Years kickoff classic; Spring break CCG weeks; Apr Bowl Games and Playoffs create warm(er) weather football options for venues all over the US. September becomes the Fall Training period (which benefits the team as ALL new players will have arrived)
Baseball/softball starts in Aug and runs until Nov (Thanksgiving CWS - Arizona and Florida become the new Omaha). Basketball starts in Sept and runs to winter break for a Holiday Madness tournament. And, football starts up again.
For the rest of sports, who cares. No one is really watching them anyway... outside of hockey schools.

Completely a lie and you should stop posting these lies.

The mortality rate is 0.25% or lower. Extremely lower based on the demographics.
If these people can't figure out a way to navigate past this, then they should be fired.
The rate might be 0.25% but this is not going to stop spreading, the notion that Heat would kill it, kill it my azz. Been 90+ in Baton Rouge all June, Kids got done with classes in May, HS kids graduated, then around Memorial Day things opened back up (Louisiana went to Phase 2 shortly there after). Shortly after that, LSU Summer School took in and kids here starting hanging out in the LSU bar scene, even if taking class on-line from other parts of the State, driving in on weekends and filling up the Bars around LSU and BINGO, we started surging again.
So the mortality rate for the common Flu is probably similar, I don't have the rate in front of me. But we keep the absolute numbers down as we have Vaccine and we know how to treat people with it. So for COVID-19, if it gets to 100 million infected (it is likely 25 Million already infected), we could have roughly 500,00 to 550,000 deaths.

Makes you want to ask "WWTBD" (what would The Bear do)? Think we all know the answer to that.
