But it's not...by that point something like 90% of people will have either had it or been exposed.
The mutated strains are far less lethal than the current ones.
You won't hear about in the sense that it will cancel anything. Business as usual and masked by it being Flu season.

90% by then seems a bit high, but I suppose it’s possible.

Morbitity isn't the number that matters as much as mortality.
3 days ago 45 people died in the US from Covid
2 days ago 32 people died in the US from Covid
1 day ago 19 people died in the US from Covid
These are CDC numbers...think about that, in a country of 350 million people and millions infected, that is all that died with an avg. age of 79.9

I'm not worried about missing it since I've already braced myself for my team taking a knee and forcing me to give it up anyways.
This is where I am.
If they want to take a knee on a predetermined 3rd down in the 4th quarter of every game, fine. Then they show that they have skin in the game.
During our National Anthem? As soon as the knees hit the turf, college football is a memory. Luckily I am a Gamecock fan, so it won't be the end of the world. I sure haven't missed the NFL at all.

Nope. Not happening. Why worry?

Football garners more revenue than the next 35 other sports combined at Division I schools. On average, football brings in $31.9 million in revenue.
(^^ taken from another site)
Sounds like D1 football programs, averaged together, bring in 31.9 million per campus.
That's the main problem. Money vs caution.
I'm gonna say money wins out and we have a season.

Another huge factor not many people think about is the impact on advertisers like Geico, Anheuser-Busch, Microsoft, Fed Ex, UPS; without a season.
You better believe those companies are lobbying hard for a season. Without it, they lose all the eyeballs watching their products during televised games. Millions of eyes = millions of dollars.

Honestly speaking, I don't expect things to go back to normal until maybe next Easter.
We're probably not going to see football this fall, not after all the new cases. Lots of states are backpedaling instead of moving to the next phase.
I suspect the restrictions will carry over through the winter holidays, in a "wait and see" mode.
I further suspect that here in La, we won't have the regular Mardi Gras parades, etc, out of caution.
So, that leaves us with, what, Easter and that time frame?

Look what Saban did
With coach’s like that football may be left to die
Coach’s coming out to promote the party to stop the voters of its OWN STATE
How did he do that ??
By working his Alabama gained popularity to elect a democrat senator who then tries to do a coup on the majority of the teams state voters who the elected trump
How can football survive when coach’s goes against its own citizens ?

Thing’s going to be over in November
Posted on 7/3/20 at 4:24 pm to Dawg4Life47
That isn’t even remotely accurate, June 30th: 764 died in the US, July 1st: 676 died, and July 2nd: 687 died

Even taking the politics out of the equation, liability is going to also play a big part in this. You can laugh at the concept of someone suing about catching Covid in a stadium, but I promise- your favorite team doesn't want to be the test case in this.

A couple questions about this...
1. How would someone go about proving that they contracted the virus at the stadium?
2. Wouldn't they have to prove that it was contracted by someone working at the stadium?
Catching it from a fan would be the same as getting in a fight in the stands and getting injured, wouldn't it? Could someone sue the university for that?
Fans would be entering the stadium with a certain amount of risk. It seems as if the school could just print a disclaimer with the ticket to enter the game that they aren't responsible.

Worried about footballs existence ???
Oh yeah you better be very worried
And now you got sec coach’s pissing the majority of the south off with going political against the majority.
These big groups that are pissed off for that may join the health experts to ban football all together
So
If you want football stop the coach’s that are pissing off the majority and big groups of patriots

If football season moved to spring wouldn't it have to stay that way permanently? Would that be the new cycle? Football is just a spring sport now?

Predicting what will happen is a natural sport for all humans
Money drives people in many ways
How much money will the sec and the schools lose by pissing off the majority ??
Any sport guessing on what happens by pissing the majority off ?

C'mon man, you're smarter than this. We've just been in a lockdown for the past several months, people are backtracking on Phase 2 and now Baton Rouge is trying to make it a law to wear masks.
You open up Tiger Stadium, someone gets sick, PUBLICLY BLAMES LSU on social media and sues for however much...
you better believe LSU will try to settle as fast as possible, rather than fight it. They'd want to get that out of the news cycle as fast as possible.

Sue for what exactly? If I can sick can I sue Walmart?

No football for the 2020 season. I'd say basketball is a tossup (no pun intended)
