When I have time on a trip from my home (Wichita Falls) to Norman, I like to stop off at the Meers Store in the Wichita Mountains. The burgers are huge, but the huge bowl of peach cobbler is the real attraction in my mind.

Good job of not selling the state to keep them out.

Where does Oklahoma rank in education, income and quality of life?

Or broad daylight either for that matter!

Only if you've got a strange aversion to friendly, kind and welcoming.

Meers Store in the Wichita Mountains
I archery elk hunt at Ft Sill and then archery deer hunt every early fall there. I park my 5th wheel at the Ft Sill LETRA (Lake Elbert Thomas Rec Area) for a month and get in some great hunts.
I always make a point to head to Meers Store several times during my stay.

Likely a big part of why they are still the good parts. That and it was more cost effective to build an interstate over flat, open terrain.

It is kind of amazing down there. My folks are in the OKC area... but they actually partnered in opening up a real estate company down in Hochatown because there is so much activity due to the luxury cabin business there now.
They say that about 80% of the business is driven by people from DFW metro area. .
