Why does the state of Oklahoma seem like the setting of every Mad Max movie?

There’s just an astronomical amount of of low test betas in Oklahoma. You think of Oklahoma and you think of a rugged western cowboy, but when you get there it’s nothing but lardass, soy laden cuckolds.

I like Oklahoma. But you've got to get off the interstate a good number of miles to see the good parts. Everything from the interstate is gawd ugly.

I do love the Midwest. Every state in the country has some boring and every state has some great beauty. But you're right, too bad most of the beauty is in BFE and off the interstate

While your premise is basically true... There are three places that are nice on Oklahoma Interstates...
Tops is the Arbuckle Mountains/Turner Falls on south I-35. Well worth taking the five mile scenic loop that runs west of the Interstate...
Second is Tiger Mountain on East I-40.... Just east of Henrietta, OK. Nice high point and drop into the valley whre Henrietta sits.
Third is the Crosstimbers Forest on I-44 between Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Not spectacular but wall to wall green in spring/summer with a lot of exposed sky. Getting off of I-44 and onto Route 66 is a nice drive through the Crosstimbers.

Dallas is hot as frick. I say that affectionately however, as I lived in Fort Worth for awhile as a kid, before moving to South Texas. Which is wet and hot. With mosquitoes and lots of venomous snakes.
Still a great place to grow up, though. Which Oklahoma likely is as well for the okies up there…

Aggy here actually speaks the truth. My dad is from Oklahoma. His parents (my grandparents) stuck it out in Oklahoma during the dust bowl, while another part of his family migrated out to California for work. Some fine people in Oklahoma that I now greatly miss.
But Lubbock is unquestionably hell on earth…
