It's more schools than people think because some of these school's titles are old as hell. Most of the titles to qualify for football are claimed from the 50's or earlier.

In the end they all count the same in the record books, but something to be said about UF winning multiples in both in the modern era of college athletics.

Really impressive when you consider how inept the UAA has been

Show me the AP trophy you have. Otherwise, it’s not legit.

the posters crying about the legit Arkansas football natty in 1964 are always the posters with the most inferiority complex

It’s Alabama’s’64 championship that isn’t legit.

Arkansas went 11-0, Bama lost their bowl.

AP voted before the bowl.

Sorry, but the simple fact is that you don't have a wire service national championship. So if that is the criteria... Arkansas does not have one in football. .

If FWAA championships are included in the criteria.... You certainly do have one.

Florida: The only school with championships in both sports in the same year (2007), and multiple titles in each. (Beat Ohio State in both sports that year which sucked really bad lol)

That was terrible. I remember being down in Florida on vacation the year after that wearing an OSU shirt and everyone just kept calling me Gator Bait.

That's a cool trick. I'm pretty sure the NCAA did not have a basketball championship until 1939.

Shouldn’t LSU be on this list? I think they won one with Shaq

Unfortunately we never have won the NCAAT. We actually didn’t even make the Sweet 16 with Shaq. We have made 4 final 4s but have never advanced to the championship game. I’m still sad we overlooked UCLA in the 2006 final 4 because an LSU-Florida rematch in the natty would have been epic.

The utter stupidity of awarding the championship to a bowl loser broke the AP. That was the last year they awarded the championship before the result of the bowl games.

An in-year #1 ranking has about as much validity as a preseason #1 ranking, lol

Alabama about to join this group once we figure out how to get NBA rostered athletes to show up next month.

Well, that's because they don't have one in football.

The irony of Bama fans arguing the legitimacy of college football championships isn’t lost on me
