Indiana, BYU, Miami and Boise State might make the playoff ... seriously??

The playoff committee appears to ONLY value a team's win/loss record, not their resume
Doubt any of these Paper Tigers would have a winning record in SEC conference play
Here are a few non-playoff (current projection) SEC teams that would beat the brakes off of these imposters, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M, LSU and Missouri
BYU is probably the best of this hapless quartet and out of all SEC teams the only team that I believe they would beat on a neutral field is Ole Miss State
In reality Miami has two losses (Georgia Tech AND Virginia Tech)
Who has Indiana beat? Anyone ranked??
Boise State ... c'mon!!
This system is an absolute joke ... time to take our ball and go home!
The committee is helping facilitate our departure
Well ... bye!

Fine with me. More cupcakes to beat in the first round

the people making decisions like this are generally fricking stupid and only care about money.
Auto-qualifiers is a TERRIBLE idea.
They should just play out the season + CCG weekend, rank teams 1-12, then bracket it that way. If you have 3 or 4 teams all in the top 5 from the same conference...who cares? Clearly that 3rd or 4th team has done enoguh to earn that high of a spot. Some shite champion from a shite league being ranked 4th with an automatic bye is absurd.

Ironic considering Texas hasn't beaten a team that's currently ranked...

Now list UTexas quality wins.

Boom across the board

Very disappointed in the committee at this point I had more faith

I like it. The idea of Alabama having to go play a playoff game in Indiana is uncharted college football territory. Especially in December when it’s freezing. As much as I respect SEC Football, I can still appreciate football outside of the region.

Ah, a Texas fan sharing their wisdom
Aggie was right, these guys really do suck.

Then why are Indiana, BYU and Army all ranked behind UTrans? They are all undefeated.

It's a shame Texas didn't make the Ole Miss schedule this year. After watching what UGA did to them, Ole Miss may have set a single game sack record against them.

The PAC 12 Champ may make the playoff if Boise State loses another game. It would be them or a 2 loss Boise State.
The other conferences besides the BIG 10 are saying the rankings are a joke when a team is ranked that high whose best win is Vandy is tied with a team who lost to Notre Dame who lost to Northern Illinois for 1st place.

Possible, but Wazzu would be 11-1 with their best wins being 7-5 Texas Tech and 6-6 Washington while also having been blown out by 10-2 Boise. Boise's best wins would be 11-1 Wazzu by 21, 10-2 UNLV and a one score loss on the road at Oregon.
The wildcards in that scenario would be Army or Tulane, I'd think. Even UNLV possibly if they win out and win the MWC Title Game over Boise.

I personally don't gaf who the committee chooses to be in as long as we're included.
I'm not a huge fan of the G5 requirement, (they should have their own playoffs) but if the committee puts in someone who truly shouldn't be there they will get weeded out early, right?
Consider TCU in '22. I was among those who weren't thrilled when they made it in after losing the Big12 CCG, but they did beat Michigan and gain the privilege of being curb stomped by Georgia in the final, and then that same Michigan team went on to win it all the following year. When you look at it like that it's hard to argue with the committee decisions.
Of course they won't get it right in every single case, but once the teams are chosen it's all speculation for the teams that think they deserve to be in there. The simple truth is this: Go unbeaten or win your conference to remove any doubt. If you don't do those things then you're at the mercy of the committee.
