Refresh my memory, but wasnt Dale going to start regardless? And its not like McMillon had a ton of experience either. Sounds like a recruiting issue.

Yes but he was also injured. He missed the Auburn and Michigan game with a foot injury.

McMillon was a redshirt senior. He would’ve easily been better than Harris or Lee

In principle thats true but the dude was recruited to be a linebacker and was projected by many to be the best linebacker in Louisiana despite not playing the position. It isnt like the guy changed positions out of necessity.
.

True but his first time playing LB was in fall camp and he was forced into a starting role less than a month later. Not great

Alabama is not going back to ground and pound if they want to continue successfully recruiting top QB and WR talent.

I realize only anecdotal but there were people watching fall camp and reporting that Lee was outperforming McMillon before the injury happened. They were saying look for Lee to replace him at some point in the season because he was simply more athletically 'gifted', Yikes!
* I edited because I meant to type Lee instead of Harris.

Clemson got blown the frick out in their last game. I don't know how they are "king of the mountain right now" That's just not accurate.

Unless it’s in your overall style of play then yeah you can get away with it...but even LSU gave up some points at times last year. If you have a stout defense that doesn’t give up big plays then you can do that on offense, but if your defense just gets blown through like a cheap dollar store condom then good luck with that. It’s nice having an offense that can take pressure off the defense.

Controlling clock with run game will cut opponents’ offensive plays and scoring in half.

I get where you're coming from here but that's not really accurate.

They averaged 55.4 defense snaps in 2011 vs 67.4 in 2019.

Okay?

We had some good seasons prior to 2000 but have been on a different level since.

I'm not afraid to admit it.

Idk

Guess at least there's a time period where LSU has been elite.

Unlike some schools.

Arkansas was a yearly competitor at one point. It sucks that we've gone like 30 years without being consistently good, but oh well. I guess you're just lucky that LSU has never had an embarrassing run of shittiness. Ever.

My point is that it's not really a good idea for an LSU fan to shite on Clemson being terrible before 2012.

Clemson was basically Arkansas before 2015 from a historical standpoint: solid, but not someone who people nationally would think much about it. Being in the ACC, I'd say that they were lesser-known than Arkansas

It's ridiculous for LSU fans to shite on a team only being good recently.

Bama's issue last year wasn't offense.

It was in big games because of turnovers and an inability to score when explosive plays weren't available.

But the defense was no doubt sub par.
