Imo, Bama needs to get back to pounding the rock and running play action...

As a Clemson fan, I’ve never feared Bama beating us by slinging the ball around. But I’ve always worried about them grinding us down and taking shots downfield.
Tua was great, but with him at QB it was a lot more finesse & risky style of play. Some people may find that more exciting, but as a neutral observer I always liked to watch Bama play because of the physical nature of play on both sides of the ball. And as an opponent, I was always more concerned that they would break our will than I was about us being in a shootout.
Curious to see what Bama fans think about that, and if they think that’s what’s gonna happen this year with the tide offense.

Defense gonna have to stop giving up 40 pts to every offense with a pulse they play for that to work.

Not being ravaged by injuries would be a solid start

There's a coach at Kansas you may want to look into.

Absolutely. With Tua and those WRs the emphasis was on throwing. I think our running game suffered as did to a degree our defense from all the attention placed on the passing game. I think we are going to go back this season to our bread and butter.
Mac will be a good qb but we need a solid running game to go with it. I’m glad Najee is back and with Trey Sanders I think our offense will be solid in the run game again.

Bama has slipped on defense, but it certainly helps to have a fresh defense on the field as a result of sustained drives.
At the rate they have scored the last 2 seasons, they haven’t done the D any favors.
People often reference that Saban has adapted his offense to try and keep up with other offenses. I’m not so sure that’s true. I’m more of the opinion that he just tailored it around Tua.
If Bama can get back to making a concerted effort to run the ball at will with intricate blocking schemes, physical Oline, and immensely talented running backs then they could be a handful this year.
Imo, Mac Jones and Jacob Coker are pretty equal talents. And from my observation Mac is a guy their team can rally around in a similar fashion to the way Coker’s team rallied around him. If they run the ball, big plays will take care of themselves with the talent on the outside. And if Mac takes charge like I think he can, then I think you’ll see Bama getting back to being Bama.
And as a Clemson fan, that would concern me more than the last two Bama teams have.

Jalen Hurts had more pass attempts in his freshman season than Tua ever had in a year.

That’s because of a combination of factors.
1. Jalen not being able to hit deep passes. Typically a dink and dunk mindset, especially as a freshman.
2. Tua slinging it downfield or to speedy wide receivers on slants often for very quick scores.
3. Bama often obliterating teams in the first half and Tuanot playing much in the second half

What is the Clemson infatuation with a star player "not playing in the second half?"
I hear this as an excuse for Trevor not putting up Heisman type numbers in a shite conference and its simply not true.

That Bama fan was getting rather chippy in that gif.

Not infatuation at all. Let me explain...
Tua blow out teams
Tua come out game
Come out game, throw no more passes
Stop throwing passes = less pass attempts
Jalen no come out game
No come out game = continue throwing passes
Continue throwing passes = more pass attempts
Seems simple enough to me, but if you don’t understand, I’m sorry, that’s the best I could do.

Which game did Tua not play the second half in?
