Urban Meyer!

Man, with their deep pockets and his ability to coach and recruit....it would be a devastating blow to most SEC schools.

Didn't we hear the same thing about Jimbo?

We've been over this.

It doesn't matter who they hire, they are an average program that will yield average results.

If Saban took the job there right now until he retired I'd confidently say I don't see them winning the west because they're just frickin weird.

What a well-reasoned opinion.

Do you have a podcast to which I can subscribe?

If you truly think Jimbos is in the same league as Urban, I don't know what to tell you.

Saban "may" and that's a strong "may" be a better coach but I'm not sold on that. UM was great before going to a major program, Saban wasn't. UM had an undefeated season at Utah, won 2 titles at UF and had them a powerhouse for some time. Goes to Ohio St. and goes undefeated but doesn't play for the title because they were under ban before he got there. Yet, still wins a title there as well. Not to mention at UF he had Cam Newton behind Tebow, imagine if he stays, that's another title. Of course, we also thank him for Burrow.

He's an elite recruiter and coach. He's produced top offenses everywhere he's been and knows how to hire DC's for that side of the ball.

The thing is hindsight is 20/20. Of course Jimbo's in a different class now that he's at the end of a failed contract. At the time of hire, not so much.

You lost me here, this is a pretty hot take. Saban has more than double the natties for a reason. He has had staying power far superior to Urban over the years. And imo would have racked up a lot more wins H2H if Urban gave him the chance

In so fricking sick of hearing about them and how big their check book is and how impressed we are supposed to be. Go get Dan Lanning or someone actually fricking capable of maybe making you not a laughing stock and then tell us how rich you are. Don’t tell us first then end up with some other guy who is 10 years out of date with football on a bajallion dollar contact

Not really. Saban was a pretty middle-of-the-road HC until he got Mark Emmert (first at LSU then up in Indy) to greenlight some pretty egregious cheating.

Given equal talent, Saban's a good coach.

Given far superior talent, he's a goddamned genius.

I am kinda sick of it too. There is not an endless supply of money to hire a coach. Funny part about it is mostly the only ones you hear saying that are not Aggies.

Do people actually believe this narrative? And i don't mean about A&M specifically.

If a team has historically performed with average/mediocre results they are doomed to that ceiling for rest of time?

I mean look at a program like Clemson as a direct counter point.

He's scared of what A&M can do with a quality coach.

Look at the astros and rangers, they were awful for a long time. I don't get why some people cant wrap their heads around certain programs abilities to turn it around. A&M has the resources, but they need to make the correct decisions.

And this isnt the same A&M school of the early 2000s, the head of the Saudi investment fund is an aggie, a&m has pockets like no one else does. They will hit eventually

A documentary was made about Urban's tenure at Florida.

Had no idea that he was such a douche, but it all makes sense now, including the farce in Jacksonville.

Hiring Meyer would be a splendid recruiting tool for the other coaches in the SEC. What parent in their right mind would trust their top end player son to Meyer considering his highly abusive track record?

This isn’t the place for an honest discussion. They truly believe Aggies are gay and we all wear painted overalls. Most here have a below average IQ and zero ability to reason. The new board hero is a 14 year old that lives out his strange fetishes by creating AI pics with inaccurate A&M themes and it is apparent he is repressing certain tendencies.

Other than that, this is a decent place. Accept it and move on.

That's my prediction as well. Urban at A&M is scary AF.

This mantra gets old. "We have more money than anyone else so we're going to take over the SEC." Here we are 11 years later and you haven't won shite ... in anything.
