I'm still not convinced that the Bama 4th down was a bad play call.

I think it was just poorly executed. It looks like they gave Milroe a RPO based off what the middle linebacker does. The linebacker followed the running back in motion and that setup for the QB run. If the snap was perfect and Milroe had followed his pulling guard then I think the play would have ended up being a touchdown.

I still believe Milroe had a 50% chance of scoring even with the bad snap if he had followed the pulling guard. The defensive end for Michigan overpursued and it looks like he would need to arm tackle Milroe to stop or slow him down.

Thoughts?

I agree

He should have shifted left.

Not a bad call.

Play call was fine. The RB had a pretty good chance to score if the ball was thrown. Execution was the problem. Low snap eliminated the RB and then the OL just got blown up. If the RT doesn't get destroyed and blown back into the QB, he has a pretty easy TD alley.

I always prefer a pass/run roll out option in those situations, especially with a mobile qb.
Roll out and if the pass is there throw it, if there is a running lane take it.
Hate putting all of your eggs in one basket.

It wasn't a bad play. Milroe fricked yall.

People instinctively make simple matters more complicated in search for an answer. It's just human nature.

There's something about Milroe I don't like. Seems self-centered. Hurts and Tua were great dudes.

Hope yall get a better QB in the portal or something.

Part of Milroe’s issue is his inability to read a defense quickly so I’m not sure how much play calling matters much of the time. He is a great athlete with a good arm but probably just isn’t a qb for an upper echelon team and probably never will be at this point

Right tackle being blown the frick up helped ruin it. His slow fat arse in the background tripped milroe. Plus low snap. Plus a bad play cll against a d line that has been eating the o line all night. Just an an around goat screwing. There were better options to be called that didn't require so much timing and reading.

It wasn’t. It was a bad snap preventing milroe from throwing the ball resulting in him having to run the ball. He panicked and just ran straight into the teeth of the defense.

The bad snap ruined that play. Milroe freaked out and just ran after right up the middle after that. It should have been a TD

He isn't smart enough to be an SEC QB

Good snap = TD
Throw to RB = TD
Follow OG = TD
Panic and run into C = Fail

Problem was everybody on Michigan Defense/Staff knew that Bama was gonna run Milroe and not call something different than a QB run, it worked all game so why not

Milroe is just dumb. Reminds me of Jordan Jefferson.

Knowing Bama hadn’t blocked Michigan all night makes it a pretty shitty play call.

It was bad execution, but I still think you have to try to get the ball to one of your playmakers in space and make them run down field to stop you. If they do that, hat’s off to them for making the play to win. They didn’t get a new look on this play and didn’t have to do much to stop it.

Milroe pressed the line of scrimmage and got screwed by his right tackle.

The tackle doesn't have to win the block for the play to score. Just don't get his shite pushed in 4 yards backwards.

The Michigan DE above the left tackle did a great job crashing down. Yes, he was being down blocked. But he disrupted everything into the A Gap allowing the play to stop when Milroe tripped.

Our RT made the tackle he got blown up so bad. Milroe didn't have a chance to follow the guard thanks to him.
