All you had to say was "yes, I believe that Cecil Newton was asking for $100,000+ from State but Cam went to Auburn for free."
I didn't say that. The FEDS and NCAA said it.

What was wild. Do they actually have any evidence?

Chizik never discussed offering strong arse deals, or tilting his offer too heavily towards Cam & his mom/dad, or not giving the runner a big enough piece of the pie.
I think if State had come up with the money, he would have played for State.
The FEDS investigated it for months. The NCAA spent 13 months investigating it. Auburn was found not to have had anything to do with any wrongdoing. It is what it is.
Give it up.

The defense is, though. They’re strategically leaking what they want out there prior to the trial and trying to get maximum exposure for things that might possibly not be allowed in the trial (like it wasn’t allowed in the first trial).
The alternate theory is that the FBI is leaking this info to show to the public that Dawkins was trying to bribe WW. The leaked info that was not admissible in evidence by the judge (that the jury cannot see) weakens the FBI's case. By leaking the tape the FBI is putting pressure on Dawkins to plea. The FBI DOES NOT like to take risk. Court cases are much more risky for prosecutors than people realize and they would much rather take a little win with a plea deal than a humiliating loss likely due to some technicality. Furthermore, Yahoo News has a very cozy relationship with the FBI.

The FED conviction rate is like 95%.

Yeah if you are going to court in a federal crime, you are either getting charged guilty, biding time, or just trying ti mitigate punishments

Exactly. Because they do not like to take risk.
If they planned for tapes to be admitted into evidence and the judge subsequently denied it the SDNY attorneys pre-trial risk assessment just got blown up. They are now leaking to the media knowing full well that the info will get to the jury regardless of the judge's actions.
I'm just presenting this as a plausible alternate theory.

Also, ask yourself this question. Why would Dawkins what tapes of himself bribing coaches while defending himself from bribery charges?

He wasn't bribing coaches. Coaches were coming to him trying to get him to steer certain players to their schools. Dawkins just got a cut of what ever the University paid for said player.

Good point by GumboPot, good chance alot of this evidence doesn't even make it to trial/or Wade even testifies....so the defense is letting the media do its work for them at the moment.

Absolutely correct. It’s clear as day. Hell the defense attorney came out and said this will be a “street fight” and that he’s gonna drag every coach he can into this. They’re not even trying to hide their strategy.
The FBI/prosecution doesn’t care about Will Wade. All they want is a guilty verdict on Dawkins and the others.

The FBI/Prosecution do NOT care about WW in this trial...he is correct. Now does the NCAA care? That is a whole other question.

I don't think the FBI were the ones trying to get the tapes admitting into evidence in the first case and I don't think they are trying to get the tapes admitted into evidence in this case either.
Dawkins and his attorneys are pushing the tapes in an effort to show that the coaches were the ones pushing for players, not the other way around.
