A handful of Super Bowls have been played in terrible weather. Let's not pretend that heavy rain and wind are any better than a bit of snow.

As someone who has lived in places that see snow once every five years, if lucky, and places that see snow 6 months out if the year, yes, yes it is. Especially for the fans. Keeping dry with a sweater to keep out the chill vs keeping dry with five layers of clothing to keep out the chill? No contest.

Location wise would make sense, but I think someone from Missouri in this thread said that the old Dome is basically dilapidated. They don't have a proper venue.

Okay, didn't read the whole thread since it looked like the OP was updating the list. I just heard they were working on a dome for the NFL but had no idea whether it was actually close to being finished. Just assumed since the team starts play soon.

I think Nashville has potential as well

Yeah, well, you'd also have the potential to play the game in 25-30 degree temperatures. It's warm this year, but you can get some bitter cold and snow at that time.

Yeah, maybe.

Or...maybe not...

Atlanta Dallas Miami. Nawlins would be ok except the seating in super dome sux.

This. I haven't been in the building since the loss to Utah ten years ago, and it was a relic then. I love New Orleans, but the building is inferior to others mentioned.

I've lived about half my life in places that get a lot of snow and the other half in the rainiest part of the country. I'd rather put on a jacket than deal with rain that blows up. Wind and heavy rain are also just as bad for football.

Five layers is an exaggeration.

I would toss Miami and Los Angeles off the list.

We are seeing the fallout of 2 SE teams for a California title game. And I just don’t care for Miami.

They're working on one for the MLS. There's a good chance they'll have an MLS franchise very soon.

Here's what it *might* look like

NOLA can't keep the lights on during big games.

The only thing I would change is to remove Indianapolis and add San Diego to your list. San Diego has much nicer weather, is a better tourist destination and has plenty of experience hosting postseason college football games being home to the Holiday Bowl for the last 40 years.

This past November a measure was voted on and approved to sell the 132 Mission Valley acres including the Chargers old stadium to San Diego State.
It beat out a measure intended to turn the area into a massive soccer/multi-sport complex.

Keep an eye on SDSU out here the next 10 years...

San Francisco has become a shithole the last 10 years and the last thing in the world they care about is College Football. Most of the the locals look down their noses at Southerners and their traditions and now they have two fan bases that fit every stereotype the liberals have been preaching. What would make a perfect event would be to have a joint pep rally that turns into a Trump rally. The tree huggers would shite all over themselves.

There is so much stupid in your comments. If they do look down on you it’s because you’re ignorant.
FWIW, it cost the communities a lot of money to host these events and the ROI isn’t always what is expected.
What great “traditions” do you have to offer? Sitting on the porch playing a Deliverance on a banjo?

Iron Puppet couldn’t agree more! I was just talking about this with some friends of mine. Almost makes me want to fly out there and see redneck come to San Fran. Just FYI I’m one too. I would love to witness the South invade California. It’s coming next week! It’s going to be priceless to read the news articles. It will finally expose how they stereotype everyone from the south. They WILL discriminate against the Southern
Fans that come there. Alabama and South Carolina voted for Trump and will be persecuted for doing so in San Fran. I hope and pray that our brethren don’t engage with these wackos and let them show their true hypocrisy. If you truly want to piss these people off don’t engage or show them the time of day. Just ignore and move along. Now if they lay a violent hand on you

Yea, but you don’t have a problem standing in line for an hour to eat at Appleby’s either.

I doubt most would agree with you.

As for five layers, having lived in upstate Michigan and the Adirondacks, five layers isn't particularly unusual. Underwear, underclothes (longjohns or thermal wear), regular clothes, light zip-up jacket or hoodie plus balaclava if you want, then heavy coat. You can cut it down to four if you like, but sitting outside for 3-4 hours in the middle of winter when it's snowing, with very little activity to at least get the blood flowing to help keep warm isn't the same as dressing up to go to work or shovel your driveway. I'd much rather wear a sweater and plastic windbreaker, with an umbrella if appropriate, than sit out in the bleachers in the dead of winter.

The following statements are true:

1 - San Francisco has become more of an overpriced shithole in the last 10 years...
and
2 - The liberals in SF and Berkeley will probably take exception to all the large, garish red and orange-clad people invading their turf and demanding fried food.

You should know Levi stadium is actually much closer to San Jose than it is San Francisco.
Think Ft Lauderdale to Miami distance, with worse traffic.
San Jose natives care even less about football than the typical SF dweller, if that's possible. Most Niner fans live elsewhere in the Bay Area and spread out from there.

Of course they wouldn't agree with me. It's a site full of people from the southeast. Down here, y'all shut down entire cities over a light dusting.

Unnecessary. I wear a t-shirt and throw on my winter coat when I go outside. Bundling up is for kids and the elderly.

Right now only 2 cities have the venue to host the event and make it an event to fill the stadium:

Atlanta or New Orleans

All the rest on the list have problems with distant to the stadium from hotels, local venue to fill in days.

I have sat in every section of Nissan Stadium and many of the upper and lower level Sky Boxes.

It is not a bad stadium at all, plenty of bathrooms, tons of concessions, all chair backs, room to tailgate, and 5 blocks of entertainment on the other side of the river.

It's not Jerry World or Artie World but it is better than 98% percent of college stadiums.

Weather could be 10 or 70 but it is the boundary between the B1G and SEC.
