. And the big donors just cant be as big a pain in the arse as they are at Texas.
This really can’t be overstated. Texas HC has to be part congressman.

You choose whichever one where you believe you can keep the boosters the furthest away from all decision making.

It’s not Texas, so whichever of the other two has an easier path to your goal

Moving forward, NIL is the key to championships--Texas probably has more money to throw around than the other two.

Very even jobs. Great talent pools, big fanbases, big stadiums, all in recruiting hot spots, lots of nil money. A great coach can do very well at all 3 for sure.

It is insane how long it has been since Texas won a title with all the advantages they have.

But what does it matter if the money has strings attached to it that prevents you from a national championship?

The money guys choose the AD (CDC). They choose the coach (Sark). They choose when a coach is fired (Sark). They choose when an assistant is fired or a fundamental change in strategy (Sark losing play calling duties). They buy the QB they want and you must play him (Arch). They want access and special considerations. They spend top dollar on players and think they got the best ones because they paid the most, but it’s meaningless if those players aren’t willing to do the dirty work.

These problems have been repeated over and over by whorn. They’re the same problems that A&M has dealt with since forever.

It’s the key to why Mack Brown was successful. He could juggle it all and keep them happy enough and distant enough for a few years to win one championship. It’s absolutely the key to everything Elko is doing. The boosters were told to stay away. AD Trev Alberts in conjunction with board members who want to win are the guys that deal with them. They have little say so in NIL and staffing etc. Alberts is the only person Elko deals with. Elko is carefully vetting all players and excluding anyone just trying to collect a check (it’s why we let Jordan Carter go recently, he tipped his hand he was only in it for the money). A&M will be a juggernaut until the day the power hungry control freak boosters seize control of the board.
