re: Kiffin thinks A&M should be #1

It should be 1. OSU 2. A&M 3. Indiana
Yes A&M has better SoS and SOR. OSU better in the predictive metrics
The differentiator should be Indiana is penalized for not playing a P4 non-conference opponent. That’s bad behavior that needs to be punished and force everyone to play a P4 non-con
It’s good for the sport to have those matchups

Reed - 69 rushes, 378 yards, 6 TD's Manning - 69, 203 yards, 6 TD's Overall A&M has over 1800 yards rushing to Texas' 1218. Reed's 378 accounts for ~20% of Aggy's rush offense Mannings 203 accounts for ~17% of Longhorns rush offense
This. The rushing attack is the real reason our offense is elite. We run north and south with Moss, Owens, and zone read options with Reed. We stretch the field east-west with jet sweeps from KC and Craver. Plus lots of fakes, options and variety of these types of plays. Plus if the pocket breaks down in the passing game Reed can run it.
Reed’s biggest flaw is his consistency in the passing game and consistency with the deep ball. The elite weapons and elite offensive line we have probably make him look better than he is. But he’s a strong leader and has shown improvement over this first full season, so there’s hope he can become an elite passer. If he fails next year, then we probably switch from limiting his running to opening it up and if he gets hurt we’ll have good options ready a year from now

Not sure about gump boards but texags has been around since 1998. Have personally posted about Fran and have tried ever since to forget he ever existed. Truly the lowest point in aggie football history
Notable Texags.com history:
Aggiegrant06 exposing the Rhett Bomar OU scandal 7 months before it broke and leading to the QB getting kicked off the team
Ranger65 - username of of former Secretary of Defense and A&M president Robert Gates
Astronaut Mike Fossum posting from the international space station
Lots of in depth digging before the move to the SEC happened there. It’s hard to describe the level of anger and togetherness we had once the whorns announced they had bypassed conference agreements and would be showing TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL highlights on their network…….. from that moment on we knew we had to leave them behind forever (lol). Beebe letter FOIA request and all the potential PAC16 proposals…….if only we had got it in writing from the SEC that whorns were banished……we’ve all learned a handshake no longer means anything in the south

In the NIL/portal era, do you become a legend at your alma mater by building a perennial conference and CFP contender? Or do you uproot your family to jump into an SEC powder keg where a couple too many 3 and 4 loss seasons will get you fired?
Exactly. If you screw up at the SEC school, your career is ruined. The quick trigger and 25% of the teams being open before we even get to November is bad optics.
Plus the stakes have never been higher. Look at Brent Key. Georgia Tech is auditioning for the B1G/SEC. If Key leaves they could turn into a dumpster fire and possibly be left out. We’re only 2-3 years away from the ACC falling apart
Plus the NIL factor. Yes the top schools have an advantage. But if you can pull in just top 20 high school classes, you can supplement that with big portal spending and field a NC contender

All these guys like their current situation better than LSU. You’re going to have to settle for someone unproven

Brian Hartline
Joe Brady
Jon Sumrall

These are the best realistic names. Matt Campbell and Eric Morris would both be excellent hires

Baylor AD And CFP Chair Mack Rhoades Investigated For Alleged Sideline Altercation With Player, Coach
Is this the best we can do for someone to be the face of the College Football Playoff?
Rule #1 don’t put your hands on players inappropriately
Multiple incidents including a coach. Embarrassing for the sport. He should be fired

Very true. Just exciting that when we head to the Norman Reservation next year we’ll have more talent than you.
I was at the 2012 game and that was cathartic. But, the talent gap was embarrassing from 1998 until we left the B12. Never again

Read this for a different perspective on A&M. A&M has their Nick Saban if they can hold onto him. And Trev Alberts doesn't get enough credit apparently. He is the shield for the coaches from the boosters. A&M is undergoing a culture change throughout the athletic department. A few things. The BoR wants to fire Fisher, and find out in the meeting that the Foundation has already raised all of the money for his buyout. Bjork apparently was dumb enough to go around the BoR where Stoops was concerned. BoR told him that just isn't happening. Boosters have had a TON of influence at A&M, with quotes from previous coaches in the article
That WaPo basically summed up the entire 21st century of suck for the aggies in the most succinct way possible. Every coach out there is talking about “alignment” and we finally have it. The good ole boy ags have finally been told to kick rocks

OU spend over 30 mil on NIL last year. That’s top 10 in the country.
They have to. Every year from now on. Those kids that didn’t have a better choice back in the day are going to A&M now. I’ll be watching the next few classes closely, but it’s not looking like OU will be returning to the annual top 10 in high school classes anytime soon.
You would expect to see a big jump in recruiting immediately after it’s announced the school is moving to the SEC. Texas and A&M got that, but it has not been there with OU.
OU looks to be going all in on the 2027 class. We’ll see how it turns out. The other major threat to OU is SMU and Texas Tech. These schools desperately want to be relevant. They will drive up the price in the region for high school talent.

Don't you now wish the SEC stayed with SeeBS?
Yes. The CBS game of the week was classic.
The way forward should be more NFL style. Rent out the biggest national games to multiple networks, so they compete against each other. All other games plus the national games with no blackouts on Saturday Ticket. An SEC owned and operated premium service. Collect all the profits and cut out Disney.
Probably would have to team up with the B1G to make it happen

I guess I am old school. I refuse to move to another service and reward Disney for squeezing a carrier to force a rate increase. All of you frickers that switched service providers so you wouldn't miss a few games just rewarded Disney for raising carriage rates. I'm sure you guys will be the first to complain when Disney does it to the carrier you just switched to.
This is America in a nutshell. Reward the evil behavior. Complain about the negative consequences. Never gain enough knowledge to understand it’s your own fault for allowing this to happen
ESPN+, Disney+, Hulu, Fubo……switching to any of these is doing exactly what they hoped you would. OTA is the better option. You won’t die if you don’t get to watch your team’s FCS game on SEC network.
If you pay for one of the Disney services though, nobody wants to hear a peep out of you when Disney dictates every move the SEC makes from here on out. Don’t complain when the conference expands again

Basically go back to the way things were in the early 1990s with just a few tweaks…
We’re too far down the road to make a drastic move backward
60 total teams in P3 conferences. 20 teams each. 5 team divisions plus multiple permanent rivalries. Playoffs to 32 teams where all 12 division winners get in. On-campus until the final 4. Conference championships replaced by the round of 32 playoffs
SEC adds: UNC, Duke, Virginia, Notre Dame
B1G adds: FSU, Miami, Georgia Tech, subtracts Rutgers
B12 adds: Clemson, VT, Louisville, NC State
10 teams get screwed: Wake Forest, Syracuse, SMU, Pitt, Cal, Stanford, Boston College, Rutgers, Washington State, Oregon State
Outside of the P3 you have a G2. One is the best teams left west of the Mississippi (PAC/Mountain West merger). Other is the eastern half leftovers in a AAC/ACC merger. Each G2 gets an auto bid for conference champ and at-large
West G2: Cal, Stanford, WSU, OSU, Boise st, Colorado State, UNLV, SMU, North Texas, UTEP, UTSA, Texas State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Utah State, Hawaii, San Jose State, Air Force, New Mexico
East G2: Wake Forest, Syracuse, Pitt, BC, Rutgers, Navy, Army, Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, East Carolina, USF, FAU, Temple, Rice, UAB, La Tech, James Madison, Uconn
100 teams in FBS. Everyone else is moved down to FCS. No more FCS on the schedule. P3 schedules are 4 division teams + 2 permanent rivals + 3 random conference opponents + 2 OOC games (1 against each other conference) + 1 regional G2

I know this is going to be surprising to you, but no one was ever banned from donating to a football program. Oklahoma state had one of the richest guys on the planet writing checks for decades, and you know it worked for a little while. But they were never better than upper middle class. And like I said the OU football program is worth more than every other school not Georgia and Texas.
If NIL happened 25 years ago T Boone would’ve wiped OU off the face of the earth. Writing checks for facilities is nothing compared to writing checks for players.
As far as who will be good and who will be at risk going forward…..on the macro level the SEC and B1G schools will generate far more from their media deals and so the floor will be higher at all of those schools. Only the ACC and B12 schools with big outside donors like Tech and SMU will be able to compete. Which will likely drive the last remaining schools with value to leave their conference
As far as which SEC schools will be a the top. Texas, Tennessee, A&M all have big money and a clear appetite to spend long term. Florida and Georgia have wealthy alumni. Surprisingly Ole Miss has several wealthy donors. It’s one thing to have the rich alumni and another thing for them to have the appetite to spend. LSU and Auburn have guys, but how long will that last?
It remains to be seen which schools will be able to keep up. I think the biggest question marks are Oklahoma and Alabama. They have the most to lose and are at the biggest risk of slipping long term. Their whole existence is built on ancient history and great coaches easily recruiting other, better states with better talent. That talent wants money and is slowly not caring at all about history

Really seems like big money on QB is stupid. Especially the portal. Just pay a reasonable amount and bring one in every year. Also maybe bring in a low ranked project for depth every once in awhile. Let the frauds transfer.
The smart big money is on linemen
