Sure, for purposes of this discussion. Lets say that some big swinging dick at SMU says I want to win and decides to cough it up.

Terrible coaches have win the SEC at Alabama in DuBuse and Curry.

Schools like I listed do not have the means and the commitment like Alabama. When Alabama goes all in they are the best. Two times has a coach won 6 titles at a school both times at Alabama.
No school once they get it all in place is better than Alabama.

I think the hope for a long walk in the wilderness from Alabama due to how it went down with Bryant and Stallings lack context.
Bryant sorta ran the program into the ground over the last few years and Perkins had a huge task ahead of him. Curry was legitimately just a bad hire. Stallings was a good hire but he didn’t get along with his bosses and left. Dubose was a bad hire - from the same bad bosses that made Stallings prefer retirement - that did so much dumb shite in his short tenure it assured the next coach or two were doomed from the outset.
Greg Byrne is probably the most competent AD Alabama’s ever hired and as long as he’s around other quality coaches will want to work with him (and he’ll likely pick a good one going by his hiring track record to date).
Alabama will decline from the Saban standard but it will be like Rome where it kinda just slowly dissolved over an extended period of time such that the average person in Europe didn’t realize the change.

He’s not getting younger, still has energy, good health, I think this is it, bama his last ride, if Joe Paterno was coaching into his 70’s at Penn before the scandal, I think so will Nick, work at Bama until he cannot no more, big question is will he walk away on top

He just signed an extension. He’ll coach 3 or more years barring unforeseen health problems. I think having to sit out a game due to the rona made him appreciate coaching even more and perhaps even more afraid of what he’d do without it.

I agree with you. I don’t think he leaves at this point, regardless of what money is offered to him.

His current school has pit into his contract. That once he leaves UA they will pay him for life if he does not coach another school.

No, he could not.
He is the best at what he does, but there is a huge support network behind him at Alabama that you don't see.
The school would need big money, not just assistants. Long term construction projects type things.

Saban doesn't even have a buyout in his contract. He can leave at any point without penalty.
I wonder if anyone would even have the balls to suggest a buyout in a contract of his at this point?

I am sorry, but there is no school like Alabama. At Alabama he has all the tools and resources he needs to be super successful (like Coach Bryant).
There is not another school that has all the same ingredients to be that successful. I say this, because it is true. Coach Saban realized this when he came to Alabama (as did Coach Bryant) and has not looked back since.
Other schools have more money, other schools have more alumni, other schools (might) have more fans, other schools might have as much tradition (well, maybe not) but it all comes together the correct way at Alabama.
Coach Saban would be a good coach elsewhere, but only at Alabama could he be a great coach.

Saban could turn schools like Kansas or Vanderbilt into powerhouses.

I know what you’re getting at and until Texas boosters find a way to step aside and give the keys to 1 person, they will never win another national title. That’s what Alabama did many years ago and here we are…
There are very few places in the country that have the resources to do what saban has done at Alabama. A few that come to mind are Georgia, Texas, Florida, USC, Ohio State.

Outside of taking a shot at those schools, do you really believe that? IMO Recruits aren’t going to Alabama because they always win.. they are going there to play for Saban, where every single recruit that has stayed three or four years.. has earned a ring. That’s ridiculous. Not to mention the talent he puts into the NFL every year.. and the numerous scouts that are watching the games..
As great as Saban is, I think he still needs a good brand to win a national title. Certainly he would make programs like Miss. State, Ole Miss and South Carolina better than they are, but I don't think he would pull the same caliber of player he would at Bama, LSU or Florida in order to win a national title.
But I also wouldn't bet against him.
