Yes and they would deserve it this year. Only loss by 7 or less at Baton Rouge to a 12-1 LSU.

I don't think they deserved it in 2011 because Bama was at HOME when they lost to LSU.

Dude try to be the least bit objective. If we lose to LSU our best win will probably be against Aggie or Auburn. Both of those teams look like they are staring down the barrel of 5 losses and we’ll have played them at home. If 12-1 Washington State (who admittedly will have pretty meh best wins as well) is sitting there, then they should get it over Bama. They will have played an extra game against a decent opponent, have similar wins, and will be a conference champ. A non-conference champion who didn’t even play on championship weekend should only get in under exceptional circumstances.

If we lose to the one top 15 caliber team on our schedule we shouldn’t get in. Last year we deservedly got the benefit of the doubt because FSU probably would have been better with Francois, we beat LSU, and we at least went into Starkville and won. Also the Pac12 and B1G champs had 2 losses. These are the circumstances that I’m comfortable being in over a conference champ

For people saying yes they should be in, I am assuming they would also support the following:

Imagine this:

Ohio State beats the piss out of the following teams, the same way Bama is winning now

5-7 Mizzou
4-8 Maryland
8-4 Purdue
6-6 Michigan State
8-4 Central Michigan
4-8 Arkansas state
4-8 Rutgers
8-4 Penn State ranked #23
7-5 Indiana
5-7 Northwestern
7-5 Iowa

Loss to #2 Michigan in a close game

Y’all would be for OSU getting in?

Of course. Everyone knows Alabama is better than LSU, the results of an actual game between them shouldn't even be a consideration, regardless of the outcome.

It is not moot because the game hasn't been played yet.

I hate to say it, but yea they would deserve a second shot. But, it would require convincing wins over ms state and auburn and some outside help.

Bama would be ranked higher than 1 loss ND, any 1 loss non conf champion, and any 2 loss team. 1 loss power 5 conf champions would get the nod over bama.

Won't matter. If LSU wins, aggy will beat them on the 24th. Bama backdoors in.

lsu backed into a championship game with 2 losses

Won the conference. There was only one one loss team at the end of the year, making LSU the clear and legitimate number 2. Beat the shite out of that one loss team in the title game.

There's really no way you can convincingly argue that Bama losing to LSU in their own stadium, not even playing in the conference championship, and then getting a free rematch in the title game is not a more egregious case of "backing in."

Of course. It would be a fluke win that would be discounted at the end of the season.

bama has and will always have a "lose one but get in" clause. Or at least until they lose 2 in a season.

LSU can win outright and still end up with bama again in the CFP.

Making the playoff would have nothing to do with LSU.

Where in the criteria for making the playoff does it say anything about getting 2nd chances at LSU?

Either way, Saban will get plenty of ESPN airtime to get on his knees and beg.

We shall see.

Neither did Oklahoma State. Who cares if they’re a conference champ if they didn’t play an extra game

Bama is the only loseable game left on LSU’s schedule, including the SECCG.

If LSU wins and is ranked in the top 4 (will be #1), they got a second shot. So, why not Bama?

You baws seem to have forgotten you lost to a shitty Florida team for some reason.

I honestly think Georgia would beat y'all in the potential rematch.
