We should always defend women, regardless of politics.

Living by this mantra irrespective of rational application of context is foolish IMO.

My wife and family need me before I risk my life and freedom protecting some woman I don't know who may well be a Communist who hates me and my family and is pursuing the destruction of the values I hold. I will use my judgment in respect to when and how I determine who to defend.

I have no idea what you know or not. There appears to be no meaningful point to your initial comment. If anything, the Soviets should have been resisted far sooner and more intensively then waiting until after Germany's absolute destruction, when the Soviets were in a position of occupation and maximum strength.

WWII and the sacrosanct narratives that emerged from it is the reason our military industrial complex exploded in the first place. The legitimate threat posed by the USSR post-war, which legitimized the need for perpetual armaments investments, was a result of our and the British's incompetence in planning for post-war existence and what it would look like geopolitically. Until people start acknowledging and thinking critically about our policy failures DURING the war which created this scenario, we'll constantly be chasing our tails.

WWII destroyed the legitimacy in this country for the foreign policy that had existed for our entire national life prior to WWI. It is still dead today because of WWII propaganda and the taboo of criticizing any of our fundamental policies surrounding the war.

You think the USSR was a fake "boogeyman"? This shows the true degree of failure in our education system. The Soviet Union is one of the most unambiguous examples of barbarism, brutality, inhumanity, corruption, and authority through terror. They are the most legitimate example of an international threat to human freedom and prosperity in modern history.
I'm pretty sure cajunbama was assraped by someone in an LSU hat. He has a lot of pent up hatred.

No he's not.

A team is CERTAINLY better off today in CFB with a very mobile QB.

No they're not. The QB position is far more complicated than narrowing it down to mobility as the most necessary asset. Otherwise you could just stick wide receivers in there. Obviously being mobile is preferable, but it isn't a necessity. You need a balance of mobility and passing skills, mental acuity, etc. The main thing is you need to tailor your offense to who your quarterback is one way or another, and our coaches clearly failed at that.

I don't know what he is except a QB that either won't or can't run which doesn't work in today's CFB

It absolutely can work if you design the offense with his strengths and limitations in mind. Last year alone demonstrates that. He is not a runner but he is also not a statue and he has a great arm and has demonstrated the ability to make extremely accurate passes.

Our offense is not tailored to his strengths and having a horrific run game and offensive line certainly don't help. A different offensive scheme would likely help mitigate both but our coaching and scheming has been pretty awful along with Nuss' apparent early season injuries limiting his main strength, which was his velocity and accuracy.

Pinning this season's woes on Nuss is simplistic. The coaches should have pulled him when his injury took away his strengths and the offensive line couldn't maintain a pocket. They didn't. They hung him out to dry. He didn't suddenly forget how to play quarterback. When healthy and schemed right, Nuss is a weapon. He is also a gunslinger and prone to make a stupid turnover, so he is certainly not without downside but the kid can play.

re: Ballpark to replace HVAC system

Currently have a 3 ton unit in an 1879 sq ft house that is over 20 years old.

Just got quoted $12,800 for a 3.5 ton Carrier heat pump system (currently have just electric heat system). Expanding return air. No duct work. 10 year parts, 2 year labor warranty. I believe he said it's 15SEER but it does not specifically say in the quote.

I was quoted $8,500 on a Goodman 3.5 ton, 14 SEER (no heat pump, no return air increase) a few months ago from a different installer (less reputable installer but installed an A/C for my mother and they have no problems). This guy did not make any mention of needing to increase the return air, which I am most certain is needed.

So a ~4K difference between Carrier/Goodman, with heat pump install vs no heat pump, and increase to return air duct. Larger company with more name recognition vs local owner/installer.

Going to try and get at least another quote or two.
DJ Chester will be starting at left tackle. Sloan will be calling the game on offense. Texas A&M has a running QB who absolutely torched us with his feet last year and we have demonstrated that we are still incapable of stopping running QB's.

LSU ain't winning this game.

They do have that right. That's not what's in question.

Another question to ask is if you can get by into the fall when their is less demand for new ACs. I think you can save a few bucks but others here know better

That's actually been my plan this season. It's still working fine and we are out of the worst of the summer heat, so I can wait to do the change any time prior to the next summer season. I know the cooler weather will also help the working conditions up in the attic, because the space in my attic where they would be working is tight. I figured install quality as well would probably be helped by not having to work in the horrid summer conditions up there.

That quote I was given was also provided over the summer. I've heard mixed thoughts on whether you will actually see any meaningful savings on quotes in fall/winter vs summer but certainly seems like you'd be more likely to see better quotes in non-peak season and in better working conditions.

Central AC replacement

Thinking it is time to pull the trigger on replacing the AC. I have a Carrier 3 ton unit R-22 that is probably close to 20 years old. Just guessing as I moved into the house 5 years ago. I've had a slow leak pretty much the entire time that I've had to charge at the start of each summer and it typically maintains cooling though until the next hot season. I purchased a 30lb R-22 tank a couple years ago to minimize my costs on the recharge when my AC guy comes out because obviously R-22 has become rather pricey.

The secondary drip pan is constantly filling (and draining as intended) due to leaks from the primary drip pan. I sealed a crack in the primary pan with some JB WaterWeld but it seems to still have a crack that is in the corner that I can't see. The secondary pan also looks pretty dang rusty, so don't feel very comfortable with it being constantly full of water. I've been trying to patch all the issues to keep it going until it breaks but I'm thinking it might not make sense at this point to keep prolonging the inevitable.

So far I've had one AC guy quote me on a Goodman 3.5 ton unit to replace the 3 ton ($8,500). The house is 1879 sq ft in south LA, so it does appear that a 3.5 ton is the recommended size. He seems to think the same duct work can be used (it's all in good shape), but I've read that the ductwork for 3 ton and 3.5 ton is not interchangeable and can put a strain on the system and be less efficient.

Thoughts on Goodman brand (single stage unit, 14SEER) at that price? And thoughts on using existing ductwork while increasing to 3.5 ton unit?

A&M second most likely

My guess is LSU gets Ole Miss, A&M, Bama. I think most LSU fans would prefer Florida to A&M but for some reason the A&M/LSU game seems to be something the conference wants to make a rivalry.

You people are so fricking retarded. This logic applies to ALL liberties, not just guns. Favoring liberty fundamentally necessitates the recognition of tradeoffs when some people violate laws. But oh, if someone doesn’t conclude that we have to ban guns after any instance of gun violence, then obviously they are just asking to be murdered. fricking pathetic and disingenuous rats, the lot of you.

Convict him. Then sentence his arse to sit in a chair and have someone put a .30 caliber round through his neck and broadcast it live online for the world to see forever.

It's time for an eye for an eye so these sick fricks see that we aren't laying down. It's time for deterrence before they put this country into civil unrest.

That did not work either. Go back to the green endzones . Sir Winston is fired.

The Saints marketing team is retarded and outthinks themselves. Paint the endzones black, and wear normal fricking Saints jerseys that actually use gold and not cream and you have a winning formula as far as your branding goes.
