If Bama wins, should they be number #1?

I'm conflicted cause what we did against Ohio st in the 4th was impressive, and Ohio st is legit good. But at the same time, Miss st and Georgia back to back and then FSU, and @ Kentucky isn't an easy place to play so I would probably lean giving them the top spot even if we beat the ever living shite of ou this weekend.

I don't see why not. But mid-season rank only matters now insofar that team X makes it to the playoffs anyway.

Yes.
They won't beat GA, but yes to the question.

# 1 doesn't mean shite right now.
See where you are at the end of the year.

This.
I would add that Bama would have clearly played the best schedule so far after the UGA game. There are no WKU or Texas State or FCS teams on their schedule so far. (They do play an FCS team in November. Chattanooga, not Auburn.)

We dont know much about UGA given their current schedule but assuming uga is legit then I'd vote Bama number one especially if they win convincingly

Nah, Texas should be ranked #1.
After all… they have Arch Manning!

Bama will be #1 when they beat the leg humpers.

It don't matter a bit BUT along about July next year when it is talking season again someone will bring up how many weeks Team X has been ranked #1 in history and how many weeks Team Y has been and it'll result in a 20 page thread....then it'll matter and it'll matter a bunch....

Unless the CFP poll is coming out next week and not changing, I am unconcerned where they are at the moment.
In the end, #1 is best for seeding obviously. But, I think an ideal world beyond that would be #5 and somehow not playing in your CCG. You skip the CCG and get a likely G6 opener, and the 1 side bracket

Big IF but if so, folks will just cry Georgia was overrated.

I think that would probably give them the best resume to date, so yes.
In reality nobody will pass TX until they lose.
Also in reality polls don’t matter until the CFP one.
