If 2021 was Saban’s “best coaching job” is 2022 his worst?

We heard all off season about how last year was building toward 2022. How they’d added the best in the nation at RB and WR. How all the young guys would be a year older and ready to go. It all looks to have collapsed in a avalanche of penalties, sloppy play and lack of discipline.

What went wrong?

2021 was not his best coaching, I think 2009 was his best.

I'm not sure, but we can count on Georgia fans to make threads trying to figure it out. LSU beating Bama was UGA's real national championship

2008 was probably his best coaching job while at Alabama. NIL has rekt him though.

That was only half a championship, you gotta win the SEC and win the natty to get a full one. Good luck this year breaking the 40 year streak

I think being ranked 129th out of 131 FBS teams in penalties per game (8.7 penalties per game) and 125th in penalty yards per game (74.6) is more on the position coaches than the HC.

With that said, giving up that many free yards is something that will handicap even the most talented teams and the head coach should be demanding his position coaches rectify that.

first time in a long time bama doesn’t have game changers at WR that can change the game with one play like smith, waddle, Williams, Cooper etc…. Their WR are good but not elite like they’ve always had.

It is as if a team can only win with their #1 WRs on the field.

As if there is no other factor during a game to determine wins and losses.

With that logic, looks like LSU snubbed Bama again

We have the recruits at the position, and a great QB. IDK if we just hit a rough patch on the eval/development side or if BoB is just awful.

2010 was the biggest enigma of the Saban era, IMO.

I think it's his worst... He's allowed these coordinators run below the standards that we've been accustomed... He needs to clean house.

Has Saban ever had back to back “rebuilding” years?
