quote:“not a good coach” the same coach who had already won two sec titles, a national championship, had a 6 win bama team go to the wire against the national champs and had them in the SEC championship the next year undefeated. But sure not a good coach.
Saban was bot a good coach back then. Les Miles was actually better
If saban was coaching LSU from 05-13
They probably have a minimum of 4 NC’s and 6 SEC titles.

Agreed. I think Jay would like a lefty starter in the weekend rotation and Williams is that guy,

quote:not all of LA is swamp land but outside of maybe 10 parishes the deer hunting is abysmal.
I travel to ms to hunt cause I’m not hunting a skeeter infested swamp where I need hip boots or waders. I do occasionally hunt the swamps around home but I’d rather hunt dry land.
quote:congrats? Do you expect me to give you a high five or medal? That’s your choice on how you spend your hard earned money.
I own 2 acres where my mobile home is and hunt (wife and 2 boys) a large club that has school board land and timber company land. So on top of lease fees we pay the property taxes on camp and the school board land. Also dump a ton of money into the state cause we buy everything local up there.

The high license cost just means I'm going to shoot as many legal deer as I'm allowed to over there. I get my money's worth.

re: I can’t wait for Alex Box to get an upgrade
Posted by Jim Hopper on 11/7/25 at 9:26 pm to LSBoosie
The box needs to go to all chair back and have a berm in the outfield, also besides the gold seats behind home plate all the other chair backs need to remain one color. What’s there now is tacky.

quote:my current top 3 I’m referring to are Kirby, Lanning, and Ryan Day.
Cig and Elko were HC’s prior to Indiana and aTm, but you’re correct about overlooking qualified candidates just because they haven’t been a P4 HC before
Elko had no HC experience during LSU last coaching search so he would been immediately off the search list.

quote:nothing Lanning would have taken this job immediately and people still would have called for Woodard head because this board thinks LSU is too good to hire guys who have never been HC’s before even though your current top 3 coaches never had HC experience before their current job.
Why? He was the DC at UGA right? What’s his connection to Oregon?

quote:so what’s your opinion on guys like Glenn Shumann, Will Stein, and Brian Hartline?
I'm tired of reading this shite. No it wasn't unless you count winning the press conference a homerun hire. Hiring the guy that appeases the fanbase is not a homerun. Elko or Lanning would've been homeruns, the rant just didn't know it.

Dan Lanning was hired in that cycle, probably wasn’t even on Woodward’s radar.

Les Miles = Larry Coker. Terrible head coach that walked into a great situation built By Nick Saban/ME and slowly deteriorated the program the longer he was there

People forget before Les, OK State was a dumpster fire they Had like only 1 winning season in 13 years and then Les had 3 straight years of winning 7+games and beating OU twice. He wasn’t the first choice but it was a pretty solid resume he had.
