If you're a conference who's considering adding FSU to your conference; do you really want a program that acts so petty?

100%. FSU has been a total PITA this year, before the CFP snub. They’re suing their conference, they tried to get others to leave the ACC with them earlier this year, they’re doing all this very publicly. They got state legislators to involved in the CFP controversy.

They’re bomb throwers.

I kind of agree with some other posters that said FSU is sitting players because that gives them a built in excuse for getting destroyed.

This is exactly what’s happening. Now when FSU loses, they can still claim they were robbed by the committee and only lost to UGA because half the team opted out. If by some ungodly miracle they beat UGA, they look even better. It’s a win-win for FSU. A very pansy arse win-win. I would honestly like to see the Orange Bowl do something about it, to punish FSU. It’s completely against the nature of competition.

And UGA is in a lose-lose. Either they destroy FSU, as expected now… or they take an incredibly embarrassing loss. This game should have been “prove you should have been in the Playoffs”. Now it’s turned into trash thanks to FSU’s antics. I think this only hurts FSU’s recruiting and image.

Everything that exists outside the CFP has been ruined at this point and it’s exactly what the powers that be wanted

Couldn’t agree more… it makes the Bowl Game Pick’ems a lot tougher! Half my picks end up with half their team opting out haha

They could take a knee every play.

They could punt on every 1st down they receive.

They could take a safety every time they get the ball.

I'm good with that. Let's beat Tech's 222-0 victory against Cumberland.

that's not a "lose". People expect us to beat arse, we then beat arse...that's a win to me.

Beating a program like FSU in the friggin Orange Bowl will never be a "lose" situation, IMO. Heck we're only a few years removed from playing in the liberty bowl so games like this are sweet regardless of the circumstances.

It’s clearly a win, but beating a team who has this many opt outs doesn’t resonate the same… that’s just facts. And it kinda sucks for the sport. The win won’t be remembered for long unfortunately.

I can't remember a single Orange Bowl from the last decade save the last time Alabama played in one for the CFP.

I get that, and I don't disagree with it.
I'm just speaking from the perspective of a UGA fan who up until 2 years ago hadn't really experienced a lot of high level bowl wins over the last 3 decades. Beating FSU in the Orange Bowl is still a great thing. How many people remember that stud NFL LT Andrew THomas and Deandre Swift didnt' play against texas in the sugar bowl 5 years ago? Probably none, outside of uga fans. But people defintiely remember that texas beat us. 10 years from now the opt-out talkign point may still exist but it won't be more than a minor footnote, while our pummelling of FSU will still be there in the record booiks. I'm going to enjoy every minute.

That’s fair. I understand my perspective is much different than a UGA fan, but your points are absolutely valid. I’m just more looking at it as “Let’s put these BS claims to bed - you can’t compete in the upper echelon of CFB with your backup QB. UGA has more claim to be in the CFB Playoff than FSU”

That seems a little extreme. Unless your wife has you roped into something else. We don’t get to see them play again for 9 more months.
He/she is lying. He/she will watch every minute of the game…unless maybe uga is losing in the 4th quarter.

They could go back to the locker room after the coin flip and just leave.

How many of the players sitting out are in the portal or declared for the draft?

Eh, let's be real. UGA was going to bend them over big time no matter who played.

Can anyone blame they? Why reward the system that screwed them over? The school gets the same payout with or without those guys so it doesn’t hurt the school but does screw over the system.

Agreed.
