I mean is there anything special in Tuscaloosa outside football and ramajama. Northport is the more lively place you wanna be. Not Tuscaloosa.

I'll tell you an era where they didn't really go to class: Mike Shula's tenure. I worked as a student IT technician in one UA's buildings during that time. As soon as he was fired I started seeing dudes in Bama Nike track suits waiting outside classes for another younger dude in a Bama Nike track suit to show up to class. Joe Kines was pretty damn tired of kids not being eligible for the bowl game due to grades I reckon and he finally had the authority to do something about it.

This is hardly a shot. I would much rather they have the pitiful Tuscaloosa "clubs" to go to than the ones where wannabe gangstas shoot each other up.

Temerson Square area downtown about a 2 miles from campus basically has this exact problem. Of course, generally speaking, everything from the federal building to Lurleen Wallace Blvd trends towards townie. Innisfree is the defacto last outpost for the kids.
