Well, let's break it down then. Why are you using a weird AP qualifier for a time when championships were decided on the field?

Because no one questions an AP title. I am going off the unanimously agreed on titles. Its not that complicated. To say LSU has 4 titles means including their disputed 2003 title. If LSU gets to include disputed titles then so does Tennessee.

Since, lets say 1950...no major wars are taking kids in the millions to defend other countries....seems decently fair.
How about 1970 when the SEC became uniformly integrated? That is the obvious dividing line between then and now.

Sure, in the pre BCS era. Definitely not true in the post BCS era.

Integration has not been kind to the Vols.
Eight Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams have made the College Football Playoff (CFP) since its inception: Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
Where is UF?

Tell that to Southern Call. The AP national champion is still around and the BCS isnt, so i think its obvious which has more authority

Well, in also that the BCS existed to award a championship on the field.
Whereas in the pre BCS era, it didn't. There, you learned something today.

CFB didn't start in 2024.

Just how severely autistic you are
The BCS doesnt exist anymore and the AP title does. Keep crying about 2003. It will always have an asterisk

Vols also claim 1950 and 1967.
OU claims 50 and 67 too.
They were both 10-1 in 50 but Tennessee was 9-2 in 66 while OU was 10-1.

Two schools claim the 1967 national champion which was decided by outlets prior to the bowl games.
Record at National Championship announcement:
USC: 9-1 (1 game win streak, loss to unranked Oregon State in week 9)
Tennessee: 9-1 (9 game win streak, loss to #8 UCLA in week 1)
The AP named USC the national champion and ranked Tennessee #2.
